Our wedding will be June 30, 2018 which is the weekend before the 4th of July, and also the weekend of a huge event in our hometown that many people and/or their kids participate in. The event is all weekend, Friday through Sunday. Our wedding will be held 90 minutes away from our hometown in a small resort town/popular summer destination spot. So, people will all have to travel, and if they haven’t already planned on being part of the local event, they’ll be traveling to a busy and popular resort town. When do I send out STDs?! 6 months ahead of time is right at Christmas/New Years. Do I send them earlier, say in October? Haaaaalp!

Yes October sounds good! I sent my STD 9 months before the wedding 🙂

you can send them anytime now! As long as it’s less than a year away, you’re good. More than a year and people are likely to confuse the date. Fewer than 6 months, though, and it seems kinda pointless.

I have the same wedding date and I send my STDs on June 26 and most people received them on June 30th of this year. I didn’t mean to do that, but it worked out nicely. I’m having a destination wedding so I wanted to send them out as soon as possible, but wanted to avoid too early so people didn’t confuse the year.

Our save the dates are going out 7 months before our wedding, due to the fact that it is in the middle of the summer and we want people to be able to schedule their lives. I think that in your situation between 6 and 9 months before is good

I think 8 months in advance (October) is appropriate.

I think 6-8 is typical for an intown wedding. Destination or holiday weekend, I’d do a little more. I sent mine out 10 months in advanced since it’s a holiday weekend.
