I am getting married on June 2, at an outdoor event space with a hotel attached. The room block for the hotel ends on March 4th (and they won’t push it back any further). When would you suggest I send out the invites and save the dates? I want as many people as possible to be able to stay on location rather than somewhere else!

I ended up sending my invitations fairly early because I was in a similar situation. My wedding isn’t until September but the rooms had to be booked by 6/8. I sent my invitations out the last week of May. I would send yours out February 20th or somewhere around there.
I had the hotel block on my website but hardly anyone booked a room before they got the invitation. Even then I had to follow up and remind many people.

I let people know after the save the dates went out. We had 15 discounted stays, and we asked our bridal party first and once they had decided we opened it up. After they were booked guests could just book full priced rooms directly. So we sent out invites after rooms had been booked.

I sent out hotel info cards with Save-The-Date Cards about six months in advance of the wedding. Our hotel block is available to be booked until the month before the wedding though, so you would need to send yours earlier. I think late November gives people tons of time to decide.
