You’re at the 6 month point which is usually when you send them out (longer if it’s a destination wedding). I wouldn’t wait much longer though.

I would order them and send them asap if you want to do Save-The-Date Cards, otherwise it kind of becomes a waste of money.

luckyinloveee:  I’d get them out ASAP. Usually save the dates go out 6 months before the wedding. Granted, I sent mine 8 months before because we have a lot of out of town guests.

I’d do them now, otherwise there is very little point.

I think FAR too many people send out Save-The-Date Cards.  I go with a nice letter to grandparents, emails to siblings, etc.  Just remember, while that magnet STD may look so nice, it commits you to inviting people.  People may misintrepet it, as saying everyone in the family gets to come.  Your prioriites may change.

Do them ASAP.  If it’s a destination wedding, you might want to just consider sending invitations at this point.

My Fiance and I are getting married here in FL, our families are from NY so we sent save the dates at about the 9 month mark since I wanted people to have a lot of time.  We will likely send out invitations early as well.

If your wedding is smaller and mostly immediate family, you could probably get away with just calling and sending the invites out, but I would still get some STD’s – even if they are simple.  You can order them off vistaprint for a reasonable price, and they have lots of cute templates!   Mine came in just under a week.

ASAP. I was always told 8-9 months in advance.

I would just send out electronic save the dates through email and then I would send out invites 2 months earlier. I think it is a little late to order save the dates.

My fiance and I sent ours out in February. We’re having our wedding on a holiday weekend though so we wanted everyone to know early that they should SAVE OUR DATE! a lot of people were REALLY happy we told them early.

luckyinloveee:  our wedding was a destination so we got ours out a year in advance.  Generally they should be sent out 8+ months in advance.  But if you didn’t yet, just get them out asap.

luckyinloveee:  I am sending out mine a year in advance simply because it;s a destination wedding for half the people.

I sent ours out the last week of April, then round 2 (had some late addresses) went out last weekend.  I have two more that I still have to send due to some address issues.  Our wedding is January 9th.  Because it’s only 2 weeks after Christmas, I wanted to make sure people had plenty of notice.  We’re planning on sending out our invites at the end of September/beginning of October.
