We’re getting married on 11.11.11 and I was wondering when we should send our save-the-dates. I know you’re supposed to send invitations 4-6 weeks before, but the advice on stds varies quite a bit. FH’s family has to drive about 2 hours to get to our venue and they’ll be staying overnight, so they’ll want to know most of the info pretty far in advance. We’re thinking of sending them in February or March…is that too soon?

I sent ours out on the last day of May for our March wedding because we have mostly guests that will have to travel to be here. Those that we have talked to have been very appreciative of the advance notice, so they can plan accordingly.

I don’t think it’s too soon…we’re going to send them on Valentine’s Day! We wanted to send them on New Years (1.1.11) for our 11.11.11 wedding, but that won’t work (federal offices closed)
We want to give our guests enough time to plan and also it’s during tax season, if they have to set money aside for travel, etc!!

I think February or March is totally fine. You could even send them with your holiday cards, in my opinion – but it could get lost in the busyness of the season. I think as long as you wait til you are under a year out – it’s fine.

im a 11-11-11 bride and we are planning to send out our save the dates in February because we have people coming in from out of town…gives them time to save and plan the trip!

Cool! So, I’m right on target. 🙂 Are any of you including hotel information with the save the dates?

We are going to have our Engagement Party One year to the day of the day we’ll be getting married! Its a little long but thought it would be cute to have a ONE YEAR COUNTDOWN with our family!

I’m so glad to see that I’m not the only super excited bride-to-be that wants to send her STD cards out in February! I’ve got people from out of state and out of country so I figured February is early enough but not obnoxiously early =]
