Oooh, that’s a good question.  I guess I’ll wait to see what others say too.

Well, in just thinkig about it…what about 2 weeks out?  And don’t forget to scuff the bottoms a little outside so you don’t slip.

Two weeks is fine, in my opinion. It really depends on the shoe, though. I have some splurge pairs that didn’t require any breaking in whatsoever, and some crazy high or lesser quality shoes that breaking in barely helped! Maybe walk around in them for about an hour a few weeks out to assess how much time you’ll need?

i started wearing mine around the house periodically months ago, but now that i have 52 days to go, i wear them for about 30 minutes to an hour every other day or so. Amazingly, they still aren’t broken in that well. I’m tempted to walk outside with them, but scared they might get stained or something…

@PrncssDva: Well, not doing laps and such, but wear them for about an hour where you’re fairly active inside. I’ve made the mistake of either wearing them when I’m mostly sitting, or only wearing the shoes for 20 minutes or so, and that’s not enough time to accurately judge how comfortable you’ll be in them. The shoes I wore for our engagement shoot were 5″ heels with platforms, and they were fine in the apartment, but we walked about a mile over uneven ground, etc, and I wished that I had broken them in more!

I started wearing mine months ago. I guess it depends on what your feet and shoes are like. I have wide feet and like cute shoes so it takes me longer to break them in.

@PrncssDva: that’s what i do! especially laundry (but never dishes cause i’m scared they will get wet, but mine are suede…if they were patent leather or something like that, i wouldn’t worry as much) I like to wear them when i do laundry because i’m standing and moving around, but they aren’t at risk!

Maybe this is a silly question, but I really want to have cute pictures of my shoes on the day of.  For those who already started breaking them in, have the insides of the shoes started to get stained, or am I just worried about my dirty feet! 😉

I wear heels all the time and I mean like 4inch heels. My wedding shoes I started wearing right when I got them about a month so I’ve been giving myself about 2 months to break them in. I find that most of my heels don’t break in until about a week straight of wearing them all day long. you know to like the point where I can go out dancing in them all night and not have my feet hurt at all! Which is how I want my wedding shoes to be!
