I need to order invitatations this weekend, but I still haven’t decided on a time for the ceremony.
The ceremony and venue are at the same location. Both are indoors. Sunset is 7:36pm on my wedding day.
I want to get married (30 minute-ish ceremony) and then take daytime pictures outside afterward while guests get cocktail hour.
Then sometime around sunset, I want there to be some kind of break in the formal events of the reception so I can go back outside and get some sunset pics, maybe for 15 mins.
Can’t decide on a time between 3-4.
Any thoughts? Or am I just totally crazy for trying to get pics in the middle of the reception?

I think I would do a 4 o’clock start time…not sure about the pics at sunset…I’m sure you could figure it out somehow…maybe have the guests doing something while you’re out there (writing notes or mingling? Idk)

My ceremony and reception are both at the same location. I’ve decided to do pics before the ceremony because of the tight timeline we have with the venue. We only have 4 hrs total for ceremony and reception so we arrive at 4p and my bridesmaids, my parents and I are taking pics first. Then the 2nd hr, at 5P, the groom and the groomsmen and his fam will come in and take pics. Im going to be inside the venue at this time. You want to be the first to take pics if you dont want your guests walking in for the ceremony to see this. At 6p the ceremony starts. Ceremony should be about 30 mins like yours and we’re taking the next 30 mins for just bride and groom photos. Reception starts at 7p and ends at 10p. I hope that helped give you some ideas
