I’d take a dollar store test any time from now to a week from now if I were you…

I’d take a FRER now.  You’ve already missed your normal period, right?  FRER can detect up to 6 days before you missed it; it should should read accurately.  Good luck!!

@RedPandas:  Dollar store tests are less sensitive then others… so they are best after you’re way late on your period… which was me. I took a dollar store test :] lol but hey… if you’re late, and keep getting a negative who wants to waste money on tests. I say screw it! lol.

I got a BFP on the internet cheapies, which actually came free with the very cheap OPKs I brought, and got a clear BFP on 10 DPO, 2 days before the missed period. In my little opinion, making sound financial decisions about not wasting $12 on a two pack when you are taking 2-10 tests a month for several months means you ARE ready to make bigger financial decisions. And the dollar store test showed a very very faint positive at 10 DPO, and a better positive at a few days late. Personally, I think FRER is great for confirmation, but not for regular use.

Good luck and baby dust!

Honestly, I’d pick a FRER over any other test and I’ve used a ton.  Even though they are more expensive, they are worth it.  I tested + on a FRER, quite dark, and the next day on a $$ store and it was barely faint +.  To me, I’d rather see a dark line much sooner.  BUT that’s my opinion.

Buy them at Target, $8 for 2 FRER’s, not too bad considering they are gold when it comes to testing.

@RedPandas:  Sorry had to chime in here!  I recently found out I was pregnant and purchased both the expensive brands (FR and CB) and also got three of the dollar store ones.  Well all the expensive brands came up positive and the dollar store ones all said negative!  I checked expiration date and they were good so this definitely freaked me out.  I went to the dr and he confirmed I was indeed prego.  Trust me for peace of mind don’t go cheapy … spend the extra bucks (2 pack generally runs between $10-$20) and get name brand.

Personally, I’d wait until you’re a week late. Unless there is some reason you NEED to know now. I was impatient and found out at before I even missed my period and then I got to spend a week worrying about early miscarriage. I wish I would’ve just not even known until I was 5-6 weeks along so I’d not have to worry about it!

I’d get a FRER. They come 2 for like 6-8 bucks at Walmart or Target. Not that expensive in my book. Buy one, using it with first morning urine, and if you get a BFP then go out and buy an expensive one, like a digital. If you get a BFN, you still have one to use when you are a week or more late.

i’d get a digital that says pregnant or not pregnant which may be less sensitive…btu work after you missed a period

or a couple of dollar store tests. because if the first time theres a line so faint you arent sure if imagining it (and that can happen even a few days after period is due) then youll want to do another one
