So, I’m 8w2d today, and I have a 1 on 1 with my immediate supervisor today. I’m wondering if I should tell her, as my job involves carrying a client load of up to 60 clients, and I’m currently at almost 40. This is a new ish group at my company, and we’ve only had 1 other person go on mat leave (she left last wednesday to start it) so it’s something new to the group.managers.
When I go out, it will involve transitioning all of my clients to my coworkers for support while I’m out.
other factors: I plan on announcing to extended family Nov 25, I’ve been at this job since May, so I’m still kind of new, I’m not ready for my co workers to know, but I feel confident that my supervisor will not tell.
I’m jsut afraid that if I announce to family, it’ll get on facebook before I get a chance to tell my boss. She’s fairly busy and sometimes it’s difficult to get her away from her desk for a private conversation (we’re all in cublicals).

I would just tell your immediate family & ask them not to put anything on fb until after you tell your boss. That worked for me. I would tell your boss around 12 weeks. I am 16 weeks and still havent put anything about it on facebook. Trying to keep some of my life private lol

I wouldn’t say anything till the first trimesters over. Ask your family to be discreeet/not blab.

@anotherbee: I’d wait to tell your boss at 12 weeks. You’ll just have got request a meeting with her then, and be sure she keeps it. Your pregnancy is progressing great so the chance of you loosing baby is low, but god forbid if something happened she would know you were TTC and this *could* affect your work down the line.

i told my boss at 8 weeks because my line manager was leaving and my work load would have doubled. He was very understanding and had taken some of the extra work off me until they hire someone to replace her.
