I know the “answer” is “take the damned test”, but I’m sitting at work right now and can’t do that. Instead, I’m going to share my ponderings because I feel like it… I’ll probably “take the damn test” tomorrow morning.
I’m not charting. I have no idea how my cycles are because I just got off BCP not too long ago and have only had 1 period.
July 11 – stopped BCP
Aug 8-14 – period
Sex: Aug 18, 20, 21, 22, 28, Sept 4, 5
Estimated fertile days according to FF on 28 day cycle: Aug 18-21
Sept 4 – Negative pregnancy test
According to a 28 day cycle, I’d be 4 days late now. But I have no idea how long my cycles will run or if they are even regular at this point.

@abbyful: Did you take an OPK or temp to find out when you’re ovulating? A lot of women after going off of bc will not have a normal cycle and therefore trying to guess when you o’d can be tough. Most women will always get there AF 10-16 days after they ovulated. It’s the ovulating part that can be delayed, not the AF part after ovulation unless you are pregnant. I would take another test now and if you’re more than 2 weeks late call your doctor and see if they suggest you coming in.

I haven’t been temping or using predictors. I think this month I’ll start using the predictors.

Do you have any idea how long your cycles typically are? I did not chart till the last two months but I always noted first day of my period for over a year so I would know if I were “late”. That might give you an idea of if you are late?
And the other question is are you typically late pre going off BCP? It’s very typical for me to be a couple days late so I never tested till I was at least 1 week late which only happened once in the 9 cycles of TTC till the BFP.
If I were you I would personally wait a couple more days to test, which I know I probably will be in the minority of saying so.

Wow, so by my calculations, you got your first period off BC exactly 4 weeks later. You’re lucky your cycle returned to normal so quickly (I mean, I guess since you only had one cycle you don’t know that it’s regular, but it seems like getting a 4 week cycle right away is encouraging). Were you regular before going on BC?
So, assuming you would have another 4 week cycle, I would expect you get a period Sept 5th. That being said, I would also expect if you were pregnant, the test you took Sept 4th would show up positive, as it would be roughly 13 DPO. (It’s possible of course, for it to take up to 18 DPO for a positive result, but generally speaking, I’d say 13 is usually enough).
Good luck! Let us know what happens!

I stopped my BC around early August and had my period right after that. I stopped because, well, I ran out and we haven’t gotten our new insurance cards yet but at the same time we wouldn’t mind if I was pregnant. My cycle ended up running about 32/33 days. I was about to go buy a test when AF showed up so I would wait a day or two more if you can stand it (honestly my husband told me we needed to wait to make sure, if it was up to me, I would have tested around day 30).

I really have no idea about my cycles. I’ve been on BCP for 10 years, and the past 2 years the kind I’ve been on I have rarely had periods at all, when I did it was more like spotting than an actual period.
I think back in high school they were pretty regular, but I never counted days between, I just know it was “about a month between”.

Since you’ve only had one period after coming off BC, all you can really do is test every few days after you would be late on BC.
I had my period on the exact day I should the first month off BC (28 day cycle), but after a few more months, I realized it was more of a 30 day cycle. I have heard of people having a period when they should the first month, but then going a while without a period. I might test if I were you, but then start giving myself at least 5 days between every negative test.

@pinky44: That’s exactly what happened to me.
I had a 28 day cycle as soon as I went off BCP, but after the first month it was all over the place.

Well, no need to test, got my period last night.
I did go buy some ovulation tests to use this month.
