I probably wouldn’t do anything twice, unless you did like bubbles at the ceremony coming donw the aisle and sparklers as you left reception.  Just my opinipon though.

We are doing it as we leave the ceremony but I think either way or both is fine!

yeah I don’t think I’ll do that twice, but I really like it when leaving the ceremony, just because I want pictures with a lot of light 😉

I’d definitely do it once, and I voted as you leave the ceremony, and here’s why:

I’ve actually never been to a wedding, but we’ve had some distant relatives get married recently, and we heard two complaints. One was that guests had to stand around after the ceremony/reception to get their sparklers/bubbles/rose petals ready for the bride and groom’s grand departure, and it just took way too long for it to get organized.

My vote is to do it as you walk back down the aisle after you’re pronounced husband and wife (I figured that’s what you meant by after the ceremony). I think that’s the best way to keep the flow of the wedding without having guests reorganize themselves.

We were trying for petals for ceremony and sparklers for reception.. but we forgot to tell people to toss the petals at teh ceremony, so we were showered iwth petals and sparklers on our reception exit. 🙂
