We told our parents & siblings after the first doctor appointment & everyone else around 19 weeks.

ETA: I probably would’ve told family immediately as we did and everyone else around 12 weeks. Ours just didn’t work out that way.

We told everybody at 12 weeks. I had a MC previously and I think my family would have made me even more stressed in the first trimester than I already was.

When we get to that point in life, we’ll tell family 8-12 weeks, close friends 12-16, and the world after that. I would just be too worried about people finding out too early, and I know that our family and friends aren’t the greatest at keeping secrets, so I figured telling anyone is telling 3+ extra people :-/

I would be the opposite. Friends first, and family after it ‘sticks’ safely at the three month mark.  Shoooooot, they would know something was up when I wasn’t having cocktails at our biweekly girls night.

Our parents & DH’s sister already know (I’m 5 weeks) but they’ve been sworn to secrecy. Everyone else can know after the first trimester.

i would want to be able to wait til 12 weeks, but I play roller derby, and as soon as I found out, I would have to stop skating immedietly. My girls would know something is up, and figure it out. But I would tell my parents as soon as we found out, because I can’t keep a secret! I’m the person people don’t tell till 16 weeks, because I literally can not keep a secret.

We’re not there yet, but I would probably tell my few closest friends right away and our families alot later, maybe like 16-20 weeks. I’d honestly want to have my BFFs’ support in the event of a miscarriage. While I’m pretty close with my family, I really don’t think they would be super helpful or comforting if something happened so I’d rather just wait.

We told my mom and dad literally 2 hours after taking the test.  I couldn’t wait.

I told my work at 11 weeks (I was getting sick)

We told his family at 12 weeks.

    Everyone else after that.

We told immediate families and a couple of close friends after my pregnancy was confirmed by my doctor at 6.5 weeks.  Everyone else will find out after my 12 week scan.

@WillyNilly:  Right there with you. I do wine with my ladies every Friday night and they would know something was up the second I put down the glass and the smokes lol. I will likely have to “call in sick” to wine night for a few weeks just to cover my ass!

We would tell my family right away (parents & brother), but we would probably wait to tell FI’s dad, because he has the BIGGEST mouth ever! He can’t keep anything to himself. I would also probably tell FI’s sister right away too, since I know she wouldn’t blab. Everyone else would find out after 12 weeks.
