Do you sit on the same side of the table with them, or across from them? I’m talking when it’s just the two of you..
i always sit sit across from Darling Husband, I like my elbow room, and he is known to literally take up allll the elbow space… So annoying :-P..

Across, always. The only time we sit on the same side is if we’re out with other people.
People who sit on the same side tend to make me roll my eyes, like I think it’s a bit much.

@graygodess20: We like to sit across from each other. That way we can look at each other while talking without having to turn ourselves AND we get to spread our drinks/plates out. Another perk is I’m a lefty eater so if I sit on his right side then we bump all the time if we’re not thinking about it.

Sometimes we sit next to each other, sometimes across. What’s the big deal either way @Kit_Kath: ? We’re not like making out the whole time or anything. It’s just like how sometimes we sit next to each other on the couch, sometimes we sprawl out on our own chairs or couches…

@graygodess20: I sit across from Mr. 99, I mean…I can touch him whenever the hell I want to…I’m not going to get a crick in my neck talking to him through dinner just so I can hold his freakin hand.

We like to hold hands. So, across from one another.
ETA: I don’t waste my time watching how other people sit. If people want to sit side by side, who cares? Whatever totes your goats.

always across. I dont care what others do though and I dont understand why someone else would either.

I need an other, because it depends on the place and if anyone is coming later. If we’re at the bar, we’ll sit next to each other. If we’re at a hightop, I like to sit next to him but like around the corner if that makes sense (honestly I just stand at hightops though). If we’re at a nice restaurant, we sit across from each other.

I didn’t vote.
Sometimes we sit side by side and other times we sit across from each other. I like to sit across from one another, but he likes to sit right next to me. Big cuddle bear.

I used to serve tables, and it always felt so awkward when couples would sit together on the same side! It still weirds me out, so I’ve never sat on the same side as Darling Husband, except when we’re sitting at the bar top or something, of course.
@lolot: You’d be surprised how many people are grossly touchy feely and make out while in a restaurant booth, yo. Those creepers ruined it for the rest of you. Hahaha.

If the table is built for more than two people then we will sit next to each other. We are very anti-PDA so it’s not so we can kiss or hug or whatever, it’s just how we prefer to sit.

@lolot: I guess a lot of times when I see people on the same side of the table they are those big PDA types making a display. So even when people aren’t like that I have the association in my head. Honestly I’m probably alone noticing the people that are all over eachother, since otherwise it’s not much to notice.

He prefers to sit facing each other, I prefer to sit next to each other.
Best way I like is if we’re at a 4 top, we’re on adjacent sides, or we belly up to the bar and eat up there.
I know it looks weird to sit on the same side of the table, but I really do just like having him next to me and being able to see the rest of the restaurant and collude together closely.

@lolot: +1. We do both and I don’t understand why anyone else would care enough to look at us and roll their eyes. Focus on your own dinner 😛

Across, always. I like being able to see him face-forward during dinner, and he feels the same.
I don’t care what others do, but my personal preference is sitting across from one another.
