Always sit on the same side. we have been since well 8 years ago when we started dating. we like to be able to touch each other, whisper stuff in each others ears and we always share what we eat….. but mostly cuz we like to be touching eachother i guess… we like to be close.  we feel weird when we have to sit at just a little two seater and are across. when we are with other couples idk why but we’ll sit however. we arent even one of those couples that have to always sit by each other its just how we do it when were alone.its just something we started doing in the begining and now its a thing we do.

Always across from each other. I want to be able to look him in the eyes when I talk to him.

@graygodess20:  across. unless we are out with another couple, then we will sit next to eachother and sometimes i would still sit across from him girls on side, guys on the other.

when i see a couple by themselves, sitting next to eachother, its too lovey dovey for me.

Usually I like to sit next to him, but if that’s not an option, than I’ll sit adjacent to him. And if that’s not an option, I’ll sit across.

@Kit_Kath:  +1, When I was a hostess at a restaurant, I sat this one couple in a two person booth. They forcibly squeezed into one seat! All I could think was “Yes, clearly your relationship is so strong and so amazing that 2ft of seperation is just too much for you!”

If it’s a booth or table meant for two we sit across. If it’s a square table for four people we will sit at the sides next to each other.

@graygodess20:  I think that couples that sit together look super funny.

@jackieee:  This!! I used to serve as well and I hated serving people who were sitting on the same side, so awkward. For that reason I refuse to same side sit with Fiance.

I like when we look each in the eyes and hold hands from across the table.

@graygodess20:  We usually start out sitting across from each other and then sit next to each other once our meal arrives. We ALWAYS share food so sitting side by side makes it easier to get what we want off each others plates.

We usually sit across from each other, unless the restaurant is really noisy, in which case we’ll sit side by side so we can hear each other.

Its funny how people care enough about this to roll their eyes and think ‘its a bit much’, your dates must be thrilling if you have enough time to even notice how other people are sitting, let alone have a reaction to it.

We like to sit beside each other, not because we can’t handle the distance but if the opportunity presents itself we’d rather sit closer to each other than further away. Its more intimate, we can hold hands easier, and talk more privately.

I always wonder about the same-siders.  Do they sit like that at home, at the dinner table?
