Ok so my man and I meet in person Jan. 19, 2008 after talking on the phone/email and redskins webpage ALOT.  About a week after his visit or so, I was planning on going up to his hometown to visit him for our first Valentines weekend together.  We were talking about the visit and he says all of a sudden, “If I had the money I would buy you a ring, I know I want to spend my life with you.” BAD thing to say to a gal whom has been wanting that for so long, but it also freaked me out some, but I went dress shopping and went to bridal shows.  But then nothing…he got freaked out!!

Now 3 years later, we’re about to be engaged…and I’m ok with that ’cause it has given us time to grow and go thru crap to only get stronger.  I still know as my girlfriend states, “see myself sitting in a rocking chair with him and growing old together.”

This is just my personal opinion and i respect all other thoughts as well….

… take it from a person whose parents, on both sides, have been married and divorced multiple times… and each time it was the ONE… and i have witnessed each time how things deteriorated. so i believe that IF the person is ACTUALLY the one you are going to wake up next to for the next 50 years, there is no rush for a ring… did i want a pretty sparkly ring, sure thing – i love diamonds… but it was never a rush … alternatively, i viewed it as something to look forward to in life… if it happened today, it would be OVER… i wouldnt look forward to that amazing milestone of my life.

well it did happen last spring and it was wonderful… but now it is over… you know what i mean… of course now there is the whole wedding planning thing…. i am not being very eloquent but i hope it makes sense.
