(Closed) When/how to put the ring on during the ceremony

We said “with this ring I thee wed” and then put it on right after.  I think you can pretty much do whatever you want though!

We also put the ring on right after saying “with this ring, I thee wed”. But I’ve seen ceremonies where the ring went on the finger as the couple were saying this.

atluser2014:  Our pastor sort of told us what to do. However, I don’t think you can be wrong in doing it. I had the ring sitting on the tip of his finger until I was done saying my vow and then I pushed it on. Because our fingers were a little swelled, we each had to push our own ring on the rest of the way. Don’t worry if that happens. You’re so warm in your dress that it could happen 🙂

Whatever makes you happy 🙂 We put ours on at the end of the “I give of you this ring as a sign” blah blah blah etc part of the vows. It was the last thing we did before we said our own parts that we’d come up with. So do what works best for your ceremony!
