Most of the at home pregnancy tests allow you test in the first days of your missed period.  So you can probably take a test now.  Though, because you just went off the pill, I would probably follow up with another test next week to confirm.  In my experience, a lot of the early signs of pregnancy are exactly like PMS so it can definitely be confusing without a test!

There’s no harm in testing now. If it shows up negative today, you can always take another one tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚

My cycles jumped like that by just a few days about 3-4 mths into TTC. It happens. There is no harm in testing now but yes, if no period in a few days follow up with another test. It is confusing bc PMS symptoms are almost identical to pregnancy symptoms in the very early stages like this so TRY not to over ananlyze anything. The disappointment is heart wrenching, I know it was for me, so I do all I can to try and find something to keep my mind busy. Plus its known, worrying and stressing if your period is going to start can delay it even if we wish for it not to come! Good luck!

@Blondiebee: I hate not knowing, so as soon as I suspected I was pregnant I tested right away.  I figured if I was I wanted to make sure I was doing all the right things as soon as I could.

I tested 4 days before my missed period.  It was VERY positive.  I made sure I had a pack of tests at home and tested because we were planning on going out for drinks.

I would suggest going out and buying a multi-pack of digital tests. Go digital because they’re easier to read… you either get a “pregnant” or “not pregnant”…. You don’t want the stress of not being able to tell for sure….

And you can buy multi-packs with as few as 2 or as many as like 40 (seriously… i’ve seen those giant bulk packs before… it’s hilarious, but if you’re having trouble getting pregnant I can see where someone would want to have that many)

If you have several at home, you can test now, and then if it says you’re not you can wait a week and then test again if you still haven’t started.

I tested around when my period should come, maybe a day or two before, and I was like is that a line? It was soooooooo faint.  And then I started getting cramps so I was convinced it was negative and I was getting my period.  But then after a week of nothing and having weird other symptoms I tested again and it was clearly positive but still not super dark.  I kept testing once a week and the line kept getting darker, which was comforting, I didn’t like the light line.   So most likely you probably could tell by now but if you see a negative it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not.

I agree with waiting a few days to test, but was wondering if you had seen the thread a few days ago about charting (body temperature) – it sounds like TTC might be a little stressful for you, and you mention that you don’t even know how long your cycle should be. Charting might be a way for you to feel/be more in charge of the process!

I had a negative at 10 DPO and a positive at 12 DPO.  For me that was a positive 3 days before my period was due.  Everyone reacts differently to pregnancies.  I didn’t feel any different than normal until nausea hit at 5-1/2 weeks even though I’d known for about 2 weeks that I was pregnant.  When you are TTC, I personally found charting to help ease some of my worries/stresses so I didn’t always get my hopes up every month just to be disappointed.  Because I was paying so much attention to my body while TTC I thought I had symptoms that were really nothing.  Best of luck to you this month!

@Blondiebee: I tested a few days after my missed period because it didn’t dawn on me at first why I might be late, lol.  At 3 tests were VERY positive VERY quickly.  I hope when you do test you get the results you hope for! ๐Ÿ™‚
