@amyinbrisbane:  Yikes…I sympathise, but reading this made me terribly uneasy. So your Bridesmaid or Best Man would have had the baby, and I know that women can actually gain weight with breastfeeding( If that is what she is doing), some lose, and of course the breasts do increase in size. What is she waiting for because you can get a dress, too big and adjust it later?

@amyinbrisbane:  Good idea!.Find some maternity dresses online that are attractive and that she might like, and casually suggest it..This ones nice and she could adjust it  later LOL

Have you picked out a store that you need/want her to get her dress from?  I know details/planning like this freaks us brides out, but I’ve found for the most part, the wedding professionals have seen it all.  I’d get a dress store’s opinion about when to order and how to predict size.

@amyinbrisbane:  One of my bridesmaids is 5 months pregnant right now! So she will be a brand new mom when she stands up in our wedding. She told me about her pregnancy very early on and expressed her concerns about wearing a bridesmaid gown with the extra baby weight. I am actually allowing my bridemaids to choose their own style of gown (they will all be variations of the same color from one designer) so she is very happy with that option and I’m sure she will just select one that is more forgiving. None of my bridesmaids have ordered their gowns yet, but I’m not concerned as it doesn’t take very long for the gowns to be made. If it is necessary that your bridesmaid orders her gown soon, ask her to order a larger size and then she can have it altered a couple of weeks before the wedding. Another note: My bridesmaid lives in Florida while I live in Michigan, so I think our wedding festivities will be a blessing as I will be able to see her and the newborn 🙂 You should be honored that your bridesmaid still wants to stand up in your wedding instead of wanting to stay home for the first weeks of her baby’s life to adjust!

@amyinbrisbane:  Personally, I think your girls still have plenty of time to order their gowns. However, it’s perfectly reasonable to give her a time frame in which she will need to make a final decision and tell her that you will make an exception for her alterations to be made after the other bridesmaids (just in case her sizing drastically changes after the birth of her child). Share with her that you are trying to keep your wedding-related stress to a minimum and would like her to find a seamstress who is able to accommodate her last-minute alterations while honoring the deadline (your wedding day)!

My wedding is April 21 and my Maid/Matron of Honor (my sis) still has no dress. She’s my only Bridesmaid or Best Man though, so I’m not worried becuase she is gorgeous and doesn’t have to match anyone else’s dress. I’m easy with colours as well, so any nice lace dress will do! I’m definitely not a bridezilla:)

We haven’t even picked a dress yet, wedding is September 28. I’d say have it ordered 4 months out and it will be plenty of time.
