OMG! OMG! THere’s commotion on my post. It makes me feel better because today is “my friends suck ass day” Because my birthday is coming up and even though so many of them told me yeah, I will go and that sounds great..everyone seems to be declining though they had plenty of notice to make things happen like I always *beepity* do for THEM.
@caszo: Courtyard is okay inside. But, imagine the parking NIGHTMARE since it’s so close to the movie theatre. And, having all those teenage kids running around their area and sitting at the fountain.Oh, btw: It’s wierd by the Front civic center is actually cheaper and nicer..just a fyi. It’s one of our top reception places.
@everyone: totally be up for meeting! Miss star: when are you coming to visit our beautiful county? Sometime this winter to get out of hellva lot of snow, right? NYC IS COLD!
I didn’t go to school here. My fiance is stationed here for the air force…but I do attend the local community college.
@hello: it is gorgeous! I wanted to get married on the beach so Orlando is a little far to make my guests drive…afterwards 😀
@cazo: I will love to talk vendors! I having a time finding budget friendly ones (or give military discounts) I don’t really know a lot of people here…or places here. It doesn’t seem that much is availabe to host a reception that is 175-200 peopleish. And that doesn’t close at like midnight!
Lol–I love how everyone I know always says oh you live in Melboring! (we finally got a club here..level z it up..though it’s a little not hopping right now lol)

And, I’m actually a photographer..so I will combine my recommendations for the wedding industry post!
I am on the wrong computer for the bookmarks :S

I would also love to get together with some fellow central Florida brides-to-be! I’m planning for my wedding in Orlando in February, but most of my friends and family are still up in New Jersey. I’d love to have someone to talk “wedding” with 🙂 Count me in!

- Wedding: October 2009 - Ceremony: The Kraine Theatre, Reception: Midtown Loft & Terrace
I’ll probably be down at the beginning of November, I’ll keep you posted! 🙂

my Fiance and I are talking about coming down maybe next weekend.
@floridabeachbride: What did you mean here “Oh, btw: It’s wierd by the Front civic center is actually cheaper and nicer..just a fyi.” Did you mean Front Street Park? I am not totally in “love” with the Eau Gallie civic center but I’m sure it will be fine. Part of the reason we selected it was a) you only loose $25 if you cancel b)they have a kitchen and ice maker c) it can accomodate our guests in two seperate rooms (i’ll tell you my idea later).
The parking was another reason we didn’t do the Oaks. I guess they say they have complimentary vallet parking but still, ick. Also they say they kinda rope off that area of the patio but you still will have the public walking by and I’m sure 1 or 2 teenage wedding crashers. I guess it would be an ok venue if you had to be 100% inside but even then the inside isn’t that nice.
Anyways, I haven’t really started looking at vendors via budget yet (is that bad?) I am just trying to get something books since the wedding is in June and things seem to be getting booked quickly.
My mom talked to DJ Waylon (?) and really liked him but he’s already booked June 5th. DJ Shane is another one in Melbourne that is popular but I think we may be a bit more low key than him. I guess he made a comment to my mom that “he shares the stage with the bride and groom” Even my mom was like, hello, it better be ALL about the bride and groom. So not sure what thats all about.
Another thing we aren’t sure about is that the EGCC (Eau Gallie Civic CEnter) has brown metal folding chairs which I will not use. Even doing chair covers I feel like guests will still be uncomfortable sitting on a folding chair. Know any good rental places for cheap chairs?

I pm you with the rental places.
I haven’t looked into djs much yet. But, i can ask around. I have one friend who does it on occasion so I can see who he recommends.
http://www.seangphotography.com/#<–I work with him and he’s the sweetest guy ever!
photos by gary boorom (could have sworn his website was photosbygary.com but it’s not up anymore..) PM for phone and address if you want. My photo teacher actually recommended him. His website had gorgeous pic but, maybe it’s being redone or something? It really didn’t do him justice.
http://www.jeffhawkins.com/index.php <–photos looked nice; do not know professoinal/personal. Just his website pic look amazing!
Sterling Photo (also pm for phone number–don’t know if they have website.) Recommended as second from my photo teacher who was in the wedding industry for 30 years before he retired to teaching. 😀

I am soooo excited.
We went and looked at the Brevard Zoo this weekend and it is great for our venue.
The inside is pretty large, has really pretty chandeliers and wall sconces. Everything is in a nice beige and brown. There are windows thate overlook foliage. There is a wrap around deck and a huge porch area overlooking the giraffe exhibit. Also, private bathrooms, unlike our other potential venue (the eau gallie civic center).
I am so excited!

Just wanted to update you gals about our recent venue change. I am HOPING that we can switch to the Brevard Zoo. It is right off of 95 for anyone closer to Viera area.

wow. it will beautiful, isn’t that next to the giraffes? that is my favorite section on the zoo :D.
May i ask: how much is it compared to the civic center? what are their prices? What’s included?
