Hey guys!! I’m just finishing up my second week in graduate school!! I have to say, I’m just as stressed as I thought I’d be, but I think I’m getting the hang of all this.
I was curious about how the rest of you are holding up! Id love to hear from y’all!!

I’m also in my first year. I started in the summer which was very busy but I really enjoyed it. What are you studying?

I’m in my second year of grad school, starting this year fresh in a new program. I’m proposing my thesis for state funding tomorrow, so I’m pretty spazzy, lol. Teaching’s been fun though! What type of program are you in? I’m in an environmental sciences masters.

Congratulations! What are you studying? I remember my first weeks of grad school…I was so nervous!! I can’t say the stress goes away, but you definitely get used to it and it becomes way easier. I also found that in grad school it’s a lot less about grades and more about really learning and developing your skills and knowledge within your field.
I’m just starting my third (and final!!!!!) year of my Master’s in School Counseling. I could not be more ready to be done, lol. I’m just starting my internship at a middle school and so far I really love it. Hoping it stays that way!

I’m thinking I’ll have to do some summer classes next year! I’m in a sociology program, what’re you studying?
goodluck on your proposal! I’m sure you’ll do wonderfully. Environmental science sounds really interesting. I always loved those classes in undergrad 🙂
Aw, thank you! I’m finding out, too, that it’s not so much about remembering information for a test but rather developing critical thinking skills over what it is that we are studying. Such a different pace, but I’m loving it. You’re so close to being done! You go girl, I hope your internship is awesome 😀

Yay grad school! I’m getting my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. 4 semesters down and 5 to go. Wedding planning sure is a great distraction from doing all the school-related tasks that I’m supposed to be doing 🙂

I am getting an MHS in Child Protection, and I finish in April, 6 days before the wedding. It’s stressful because I’m not a student type. I love to read, and to learn, but I really suck at prioritizing school and getting things done.

It gets better when you’re done with classes! Just hang in there. I’m in my 3rd year, going up for Candidacy in a few months. My advisor’s tenure package just got denied though… so my whole life is currently up in the air.

Yeah I’ll have to do summer again next year too (unless we have a baby!), but it’s mainly just clinicals. That’s cool I got my minor in sociology. I’m in speech path so just three more semesters of class and clinic then an externship semester

I’m in my third year of my PhD in geology (studying climate and organic geochemistry). I’m taking my written comprehensive exams on Tuesday and Wednesday (comparable to quals). Then the orals are two weeks later. I’m nervous because I’m not freaking out yet… shouldn’t I be freaking out??
No classes or teaching this semester! But I will be writing a proposal as soon as my exams are done, applying for fellowships, and hopefully putting in some long days in the lab if I can get my samples mailed to me!

Congrats!! I just graduated law school. It was hell, but now that I’m out, it’s so worth it!! 🙂 Wish someone had told me I’d feel this way during the hard times. I also minored in sociology in college and wish I’d majored in it, it’s fascinating!

I’m in my last (3rd) year of physical therapy school- our last year is all clinical internships and research, ending with a comprehensive exam so planning now is not that bad! At least I’m done with classes. We’re getting married one month after I get my degree!

I am in my second semester, and getting my MPH (Master of Public Health). Love it so far!

Wow ladies, it sounds like we are mostly all in the same boat. I’m glad to know there’s bees out there who know what I’m going through. And SO and I aren’t even engaged yet! I think that’s coming up really soon though, so then the real fun begins 🙂
it’s so good to hear that it was all worth it for you, I’m hoping I can just make it through this darn program and find a decent job!!! Congrats on finishing law school, that’s quite the feat 🙂

I’m in my second year of my Master’s in Speech Pathology. 2 semesters left. I’ll be getting married right after graduation!
