@Mrs. Myrtle Beach:  You went from a pave halo to a solitaire?  May I ask why? Usually it’s the other way around!

@ButterflyButterfly:  Yep I sure did! I went from a 1.4 cushion center moissanite halo to a 2.01 diamond solitaire. A few reasons actually. The main one was, the pave in my setting was always a concern having lost a stone fairly soon after the wedding.

Also, going with the larger stone I really felt the halo detracted more than it added in that size and I didn’t want anything to take away from the beauty of that stone. Nothing against really large stones with a halo, it just was not the look I was going for. That’s why in the end we chose a simple 6-prong white gold mounting. The diamond is so sparkly and perfect to me, I just wanted to let its fabulousness stand on its own! LOL

I had fallen in love with my new wedding band on Etsy and I knew it would compliment the solitaire without taking away from it I had no idea I was getting it, we initially chose and purchased a plain white gold band (which I returned when my husband surprised me with the wedding band for my birthday!) Since the solitaire is actually my Christmas gift – I was not wearing it yet until the wedding band came and then my husband went ahead and gave me both. I don’t think I could have waited 2 more weeks! Smile

Here is my old set:
