We got married on Sept 17, 2010. I researched photographers for a long time and decided to splurge on one that I totally loved. They were awesome to work with, made us so comfortable, and were overall awesome.
I posted on the ‘bee at the 6 week mark, asking if I should ask our photog for ‘teaser’ images. I did so and she sent us around 10 GORGEOUS images that same day. I am absolutely in love with them. She said the rest of our images would be ready at the 8 week mark.
We are currently in the 10th week. I emailed her this week to ask about the online album (if she’d notify us when it was ready or if we should just keep checking her site) and did not get any response. Our contract outlines the following:
• package one :: $—-• 6 hours of coverage by —- • High resolution digital files (600) delivered 6-8 weeks after wedding • Release for unlimited personal reproduction of images • Online gallery to view and/or purchase your images (available for 90 days) • $350 product credit
Should I just give it more time? I really wanted to get prints for our parents for their Christmas gifts, and I don’t know if we’ll have time now. She was so awesome to work with, and I know this is a SUPER busy time of year for photogs. I don’t want to offend her or rush her at all. What would you guys do?

I got married September 11 and I’m still waiting for my photos too. I asked our photographer to give me a top five so that I could at least pick one for thank you cards. Apparently the rest will be ready at the end of the week next week.I know he’s been CRAZY busy so I’m trying to be patient, but I totally feel your frustration, trust me!!! LOL!
I would definitely email to “check in” and see if you can set up an appointment to come pick up your files (or view your photos if she does a little slideshow presentation for you). I’m totally guilty of harassing my photographer 😉

Yeah I got married September of 2009 and I am still waiting for my album. Good luck. Hopefully your photographer is less of a asshole than mine.

I think since she already said they’d be ready at 8 weeks then definitely contact her again. I’m sure it’s crazy with the holidays but she was the one who set the expectation that they would be completed by now. I’d let her know that you want to get prints for your family for Christmas.
I think it’s okay to “bug” vendors who have said they’ll have something finished by a certain time. If there was a delay for whatever reason she should have contacted you and let you know why they were delayed and when they would be ready.

if she hadn’t specifically said they’d be ready at the 8 week mark, i would say give her some time. but since she set the expectation, you should check-in with her.

K, I emailed her. We shall see! Thanks Bees. 🙂

I got married September 5th and it took our photographer 9 weeks to get pictrues to us. Our contract stated 8 weeks so I was annoyed. I would definately ask for something free at this point! Our photographer gave us a free 11×14 print to make up for her tardiness.

I was married in September and had my photos when we got back from our honeymoon in the same month. I think b/c your contract says 6-8 weeks, you have every right to ask her!

I was married September 11th, and have had my photos for over a month (fully edited). But, that was in my contract, so it was already communicated/expected. Your photog should be coming off of the busiest time of year – they should be catching up by now and be ready ot give you your stuff. Good luck with your email!
