I love the Florida Keys… But unless you stay at a resort that trucks sand in (which many of the “resorts” down there actually DO), the beaches are coral beaches instead of soft sandy beaches (I don’t mind the coral..I kinda like not having sand get EVERYWHERE).  I find it’s cheaper than going out of the country to someplace “tropical”, and things seem so laid back in the keys… definitely a relaxing and fun place to vacation.  Been down there in Mid-February before and it was warm enough to be on the beach in a bikini.

My family vacations in Mazatlan, Mexico every Thanksgiving in November and the temperature is always in the upper 80’s.  The ocean is still really warm too, and there is usually no rain!

We went to Jamaica.. it’s about 84 there year round!

November is the end of the hurricane season in the Carribean – so be careful.  We went at the beginning and what ended up to be Hurricane Alex strolled right by below Jamaica while we were there!

I think anywhere in the Carribean is safe.

If you want to go somewhere that isn’t an island.. keep in mind that everything south of the equator is in summer when we are in winter.  So Austrailia, New Zeland, Rio, all summer time.

We are going to Breezes Bahamas. I think it was cheap under 2200 for FH and I. Its al all inclusive resort and that includes our flight!

I think the most cost-effective place for you would be Mexico, which is warm year-round. We’re going next year in January, and average temperatures, we found, are low to mid 80s. Mexico, after researching the entire Caribbean, was also the cheapest for us.

Anywhere in the Carribean, Mexico (less hurricane risk, especially if you go to the Pacific side), Hawaii (although that can be expensive), Florida Keys…

Good luck!

Can’t recommend any specific resorts as in the past we’ve rented privately owned condos through real estate agents.

Hello Mexico!

Try Zihuatenejo.  I loved it.  You can find some inexpensive hotels there as well.  I think anywhere on the Pacific side of Mexico is good.  Caribbean Mexico is nice, but you have to watch out for hurricanes.  Mexico is great because airfares are inexpensive if you live in US and the hotels are also inexpensive.  The same is true for most of Central America as well.  I checked the temperatures and they were 87-72.  Check out lonely planet Mexico for a hotel and double check it on tripadvisor.

Also, are you looking for a small-town hotel or nightlife or all inclusive?  People have very different travel styles.

Also it depends upon what you like.  If you’re looking for blue green waters, you probably should go to the Caribbean side, but you have to watch out for hurricanes, which can ruin everything.

If you’re looking for Caribbean, you can try Honduras, which has the least expensive dive certifications in the world.  I think people also like Isla de Mujeres, which is close to Cancun.

I would recommend looking into the Barcelo Maya Palace, Riviera Maya Mexico

Went there for a vacation with the Fiance, its not a party atmosphere, more low key and family oriented but its gorgeous and relatively new! the pool and beach are spectacular and the service was great!

Moon Palace in Mexico as well! I believe this is relatively close to Cancun.  My FI’s brother went there for a senior trip and RAVED about it.  i think we will be going there on our next mini vacation with friends.

Playa Del Carmen is gorgeous as well!  Look into All-inclusive resorts, you dont have to worry about paying for anything while you are there unless of course you decide you want to do outside activities like scuba dive and shop, etc.

Our anniversary is Nov 27 – We love going to the Cancun area then.  It is the end of the hurricane season, but we have been fortunate to have had good weather.  We have a membership at Palace Resorts.  It is all inclusive, and it is top notch!  It’s also a slow time because of the holiday hustle/bustle here, and I love getting back from a relaxing trip before the holiday season, bc I just enjoy it so much more. I don’t allow myself to get all holiday crazed!  I just order online gifts before I go and enjoy wrapping and baking to holiday music when I return.  Moon Palace is one of theirs.  Check out their website.  They are all pleasantly different.  My husband isn’t into the beach scene too much, so we go to the Xpu-Ha, but I have been to several.  I love Aventura Spa!!!  🙂

Riviera Palace or Maya palace is not part of the Palace Resorts that we go to.  BTW-Xpu-Ha is for those who love animals, environmental friendly places, and is more quiet , less nightlife.  🙂
