Where are my date twins?!
Where are my date twins?!
I’m your date twin!!!!
Yay! How far along are you with planning?
I have the church and reception site, a place for tuxedo’s, a florist through the reception site and I think thats about it. What about you?
O duh! I have a photographer and a D.J. and a cake person too.
Just booked the venue and caterer, bought my dress, and am putting together collages for everything else. It’s so exciting when you finally book the ceremony/reception site and can tell people your date FOR SURE.
I know! There was so much stress involved in picking a date for a few reasons, it was insane! We had originally wanted September and ironically enough our anniversary date was a friday and we had talked about a friday wedding. But then September became ‘claimed’ by fiance’s best man and his fiance. Thats a long story that upsets me very much so I will not go into details on that. So we then decided December and came to find out that 1) no wedding in the orthodox faith is permitted on a Friday, a wedding should be sunday’s and saturday’s by the bishop’s permission and 2) December is out because it is fasting before christmas (my xmas is in january) . So we then decided on november and pushed through for permission from the bishop for a saturday wedding. Along the way we also had to get permission to ‘borrow’ a fellow church because mine is pretty small. So we waited for about 2 months for both decisions. Thankfully we were approved for the use of the other church and for the Saturday wedding. So everytime I would talk to someone they’d ask and I’d be so frustrated because there was nothing I could do, although I really wanted to call and bug my priest everyday lol.
I’ve put on a few pounds so i think i’m avoiding dress shopping 🙁
Ugh, so frustrating!! I’m so glad it worked out for you in the end after having to jump through all those hoops. Don’t even get me started on people “claiming” months!
We have PLENTY of time to get in shape for our weddings! I ordered my dress in a few sizes smaller (stupid choice really, but great motivator).
@SBourgeous: I know we have plenty of time to get in shape lol but I have no motivation what so ever. I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to order my dress a few sizes smaller, but I have a feeling I will be looking soon I’m started to get heat from the family about when when when.
I realize weddings are big deals and important and all but people claiming things are ridiculous. I also have a feeling that the ‘claiming’ problem this person has will carry through to other stepping stones in our lives and I am not very excited.
@SBourgeous: So right about the names! Isn’t it sick that we have to worry about stupid stuff like this!?
If I asked myself if the cupcake was worth it, I’d eat it and decide that I’d work out extra later to make it up and then never get to working out ha.
I guess its just us that are date twins so far on here
I know! I wont even tell other engaged girls who live near me about my venue. I don’t want them to “steal” it.
I would do the exact same thing, seriously. It’s too hard to not eat delicious things! It helps if I send FH to the store with a list that doesn’t have any goodies on them. If they aren’t in the house, I can’t eat them. I just tell him – no extra goodies, and don’t go out to get me goodies if I ask. So far it SORT OF works… that lucky jerk can eat whatever he wants and stay at 180. So jealous.
I’m actually thrilled we’re the only date twins so far! It means my guests wont have to decline my invite because 10 other people they know are getting married that day too 🙂
@SBourgeous: I’m not worried about stealing of my venue, but I was already forwarned by that person to not use their colors or have a dress like theirs so I’m pretty positive they won’t be stealing off of me regardless. My fi doesn’t really do the shopping but I’m sure he would come home with a lot of no no’s for me to get into at a time of stress.
Ha! Yea, talking FH into shopping isn’t easy.
This person is being ridiculous to you! Who does that, seriously? Bridezilla for sure!
I’m sort of trendy… black, white, silver, and tiffany blue. I tried going with turquoise but FH said NO WAY. I think I’m going to do white tables, black chairs, and have little accents of blue so it isn’t too overwhelming. No theme really… unless “we’re going to do what I want” is a theme. Maybe classic/antique? My dress is a genuine antique! Here it is – can you tell I’m really modest in what I wear? Haha.
@SBourgeous: Your dress is beautiful! Where did you find it? I look and look for dresses online and in magazines and I just can’t seem to find any at all that say to me ‘i want to try you on’. I hope that once i’m in a store something sticks out to me. I like your colors too! We’re thinking about black and white and something else, just not sure about the something else yet.
