@NowDontLetsBeSilly: As the name says it, I’m a Pacific Northwest bride to be. We’ve been engaged since September and are planning on an October 2013 wedding. We have chosen our venue but the date is tentative as we can only reserve 1 year in advance. We’ll be getting married at Rose Hill Community Center in Mukilteo… I know it sounds like an old lady hang out but it’s a new facility over looking the light house and ferry terminal and Whidbey island. Just gorgeous. Floor to ceiling windows and big wooden beams. I love it! We have a wedding “outline” at this point but now that the holidays are over the planning and DIY’ing are about to begin! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am usually just a stalker, but I am getting married at Kitsap Memorial State Park this summer.  We moved to Seattle about a year and a half ago, and are hoping to make it a permanent home.  Love it here!

@rosered879: I googled some images. Are you getting married or having your reception in the barn/rustic looking venue (dark wood, gorgeous chairs)? I have lived in the Puget Sound my entire life, I love it here. I’ve been in Snohomish County since 2008.

@SeattleRoo: Where are you getting married? I looked at a lot of the very cute farm/barn places in Snohomish as it’s pretty close to where I live, but most were out of our budget!

I am getting married there and having the reception in the log cabin type hall.  Unfortuantely, I will not be having the fabulous chairs, I will be sticking with what the venue can provide. I absolutely love the venue and cannot wait to showcase the puget sound area to our guests, most of whom have never been to Seattle!  One of my silly hopes for our venue was the need to take the ferry, and we found one.  I don’t know what it is about the ferries, but I love them!

I decorate for weddings and have been to a ton of locations and barns I don’t know how many guest you are having but there is one barn I know that is 500.00 to rent but you have to rent tables and chairs.  the outside area is hugh all the times i decorated I covered the whole ceiling so you can’t see the wood  the reason it so cheap is because they are still putting money into it.  every time I go there they have done more.  they even have places for people to spend the night. email me and I can forward the ladies phone number to you if you are interested [email protected]

even a great place for parties and camping out with a band playing in the background.  I thought it was funny they had a mechanical cow there for people to milk beer out of the utters.  I wish I could have stayed for that event.

Hi all!

I agree with the OP that a new bee is from the PNW (okay, preferably Seattle) would be awesome. We’re hip Seattle-ites and would love some representation!  Ok, enough of my soap boxing.

I have been engaged since December 25, 2010….yes, you read the year correctly, 2010 (I get asked that ALL-THE-TIME).  Anywho, we are planning an April 2013 wedding in Seattle at the Lake Union Cafe.  This is kind of an odd choice for us as we live in BFE according to most of our family, have a horse, but love art deco (who knew!)

Woo, Seattle.

We’re getting married in September out in Port Gamble, on Hood Canal.  We’re chugging through planning – have got photographer, DJ, caterer, venue, and dress done – next up is florists & hotels…

Fiance & I have been together nearly 8.5 yrs – he proposed over NYE and I jumped on planning pretty fast.  It’s CRAZY how far out all the good venues around here book out…

Longtime stalker, finally had to chime in ๐Ÿ™‚

@feistybride:  Nice choice! I went to a wedding this past Labor Day at the Lake Union Cafe, and it was absolutely beautiful (as I’m sure yours will be as well!)

I’m not engaged, like @NowDontLetsBeSilly: (when she first posted this – she is now, yay!) but hoping to see a Bee from our area too – maybe we’ll be seeing one of you lovely bridies become a Bee soon??

Just created an account after my co-worker told me about the bee.  We are getting married May 2013 on Whidbey Island.  I would love to hear from other Seattleites about their wedding plans.  We already have a venue, catering and a photographer, but they are just so many things to do and find.  If anyone has referrals on wedding anything, please send them my way.  I have lived in Seattle my whole life, so if any one has questions, I would be more than happy to help.
