Sorta yea, we normally have at least a few inches of snow on the ground around this time of year. Nothing, no snow and unseasonably warm for Minnesota!  So doesn’t feel like Christmas

Fave Christmas song: Carol of the Bells

I have ALWAYS loved Christmas but I feel it this year too!!  My entire family is ‘Blah’ this year for a bunch of reasons (Finances are rough for all of us this year, our family dog died less than 2 months ago suddenly, my brother’s children won’t be around for any of the holidays this year, etc.), and we all went on a beautiful carribean vacation just before Thanksgiving so we spent so much time looking forward to that and planning for that, Christmas was almost a surprise for me this year!!  I can’t believe it’s less than a week away, I haven’t finished shopping or wrapped a single gift, we don’t have any snow either AND my Fiance turns into a complete Scrooge this time of year…GRR!!!

I love the Hippopatomous song too!!!  My favorite is Bing Crosby singing White Christmas (Ahh, I sigh with contentedness every time I hear it) and the angelic versions of Carol of the Bells.

I’ve been trying to force it (sent out cards, did shopping, gave out gifts, did my nails like candy canes) but yeah, not really feeling it this year. It’s been tough for me since I moved to Vegas (55 degrees doesn’t exactly make things feel like Christmas) but this year has been especially bad. Hopefully it’ll get better as we get closer this week.

I don’t really have a favourite Christmas song… I guess the closest would be “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” which is odd because I hate hymns in general.

I haven’t done Christmas cards either.  I planned them, ordered them, then found out the place I was supposed to pick them up ran out of ENVELOPES!!!  I walked out VERY disgruntled…..

Definitely. I’ve been going through the motions but the magic isn’t really there as much this year. I like looking at our pretty lights and our tree, and I’ve enjoyed going to Christmas parties with Darling Husband, but something’s off. We don’t even have that chill in the air that feels like winter. We had snow for one day in November and then nothing, and I’ve only woken up twice when there was frost on the ground. Oh well. I’m sure when I get off work on the 23rd it will all hit me.

Anyway, my favorite Christmas song is Straight No Chaser’s 12 Days of Christmas, followed closely by Sarah McLachlan and the Barenaked Ladies singing a mashup of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings.

yeah just not feeling Christmas this year.  Co-workers are VERY disgruntled, our and Christmas party sucked.  We usually do some sort of pot luck luncheon and yeah that’s not happening.  I’m  moving 6 states away in 11 days (OMG) to be with Fiance, so I didn’t put up decorations and money is tight for my whole family.

I did paint some dollar store oraments with my 7 year old great neice this weekend and she has the spirit.  She was singing Rudloph & Holly Jolly Spirit which are fun to sing.  I’ll have to go home and turn some caroles on tonight!

I’ve tried. It’s hard when your brother disowns his family… But I am trying REALLY HARD to make the best of it!

In The Bleak Midwinter.  It’s just so pretty.

I’m feeling quite good about Christmas.  I’ve been keeping busy because I came to my parents early, SO comes down on Friday (YAY!).  My mum recently had an operation on her foot (nothing major) but she struggles to stand for very long so I’ve been responsible for a lot of the decorating/cooking/general chores.

I normally go to a carol concert in mid December but my mums choir (who usually do it) put the price up and I just couldn’t justify it.  I went to our local church one on Sunday and it was miserable and nearly empty, I remember when it was standing rom only.  So sad.  So I guess I’m not as Christmassy.  And I didn’t have an advent calendar this year.

I can’t seem to get into Christmas this year, which is so odd for me because I usually start with ohmygoditsalmostchristmas right around Halloween.  I haven’t even put up my tree yet.  I just don’t feel like it. Undecided

My favorite Christmas song is Baby it’s Cold Outside.

I’m feeling the lack of Christmas spirit a little, too. Despite the fact that I’ve decked out my office at work and play Christmas Pandora all day long!

My all-time favorite is The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire).

Ugh.. I feel you too.  I think I’m getting old.  Every Christmas spirit “thing” I try, just feels forced. Bah. Also, I’ve been quite anxious lately…

My favorite Christmas song is: “Christmas Time is Here” from “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

@linguo42: It’s definitely not the best christmas I’ve ever experienced… Thanks for the hugz! I’ll pass some onto my mom, she needs them more than me. 🙂

It’s been okay. I’ve been excited for it. I have liked hearing the music, watching the TV specials. I’m strapped for cash a little more, so I’m a bit bummed that I can’t do my normal spending. I also normally go to Trans Siberian Orchestra, and I had to miss it this year. Plus, my sister won’t be home for Christmas, so that is going to be weird. Work has been stressful…I’m hoping once I’m on vacation, it will seem better!

Favorite songs: Christmas Canon by Trans Siberian Orchestra, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings by Barenaked Ladies & Sarah McLachlan, Oh Holy Night (no special version), and Angels We Have Heard on High by Michael W. Smith.
