nutMeg, Durkee Mower spices are produced in Lynn. Actually, I grew up just up the street from the plant. They also produce Marshmallow Fluff (fluffernutters).
Also, Lynn is the place of the first (ever) night-lighted baseball game. This came about because GE has a big (used to be huge) plant here. Way back when, they were the first to put lights on their baseball field.
One more thing, this little ditty is known far and wide about Lynn:
Lynn, Lynn sity of sin
Never go out
The way you came in.

I basically feel deprived… Oh, how I love traveling back home, though! I make sure to cram all the things I miss into the time I get to spend out there. And, the shore… I miss it more than anyone could ever imagine.

@novacaineandlaughter: looks like we are the only ones from LaLa Land:) I’m a 4th generation Valley Girl and have the accent to prove it. My family originally moved here when it was still kind of the Wild West.
My great, great grandmother walked here from Kansas alongside a covered wagon (with her cat:) I myself never go anywhere without valet parking. Times change. Lol
By The Way, San Diego is awesome. Went to college there and I LOVE the weather.

I’m from Los Angeles but now live in San Francisco.
I read on a random blog or something once that people from San Francisco actively hate L.A. with a fiery passion, whereas people from L.A. are just vaguely aware that there’s another city up north. Unfortunately, I am finding that to be true.

I am from a small college town in Illinois where the University of Illinois is located. Scott Altman, Roger Ebert, and Nick Offerman went to college there. Ludacris was also born there.
My mom is from the same town in Texas where Dwight Eisenhower is from. The home where he was born and lived is preserved as a mini museum.
