@gelaine22:  You’re getting married a town over from where I went to high school. I never realized something that looks like that was only a stone’s throw away. You’re also getting married 2 days before my birthday. Great time of year to get married. Everything isn’t quite so SUMMERBURNYOURFACEOFF. πŸ™‚

As for me, we looked at SEVEN places before stumbling across our venue. All of my family will be over the moon that it was the 8th place we saw. Asians would know why. *rolls eyes*

It’s a historic Inn near the Delaware River. George Washington supposedly ate there before crossing the Delaware and any British prisoners were probably housed there. The Inn owners worked the ferries and helped George Washington make that fateful boat “ride” across the river.

We’re getting married in the “secret” garden. All of us, even my Future Mother-In-Law, was like WOW.

We’re lds (Mormon) and we were married in the Laie, Hawaii temple, where my parents were married, and around the corner from where my husband and I both grew up. There is a really beautiful tiered fountain on the grounds.

There are several rooms for marriages that are pretty much all set up the same, but my husband and I both think this one looks like the one we were married in. Once the temple is done and dedicated you can’t take pictures inside, but there are plenty from before the dedication. We kneel on either side of that alter in the middle, and then afterwards you stand between the mirrors on either wall and see yourselves together forever. It’s different, but very peaceful and intimate πŸ™‚

@sealevels:  gorgeous venue! I work in Fairfield. My birthday is also Sept 2nd. Lol. We had a time crunch bc Fiance is in the military.

The Grove is fairly new. I visited about 20 places but I didnt go as far as the Delaware since I am in central NJ near Staten Island. I love the garden picture. That is the one thing I regret with my venue…no outdoor area!
