We decided on Ireland and England, at least a week in each.  I have always wanted to go somewhere in Europe, it really didn’t matter where to me. Well FI’s family is Irish and he has always been really into the culture and has wanted to go there for ever, so I thought why the heck not? lol And England came into the picture, because I’m really into the history of England and it has always interested in me and sense it’s a just a hop over the “pond” we thought might as well.  It’s going to be expensive but totally worth it!!!

@hopestruck:  double honeymoon

first we are looking at an all inclusive. Right now we are reviewing the Riu in Aruba (may change) for about 6 days.

Then a Disneymoon for about 4ish days.

we would both love to go to Europe (I have never been, in all my travels). But we decided to plan a big European trip in 2 years when I am done all my studies, more time to plan. And we can do it before kids come into the picture.

@hopestruck:  not long….10 days bc Fiance is in the military so we can’t go for much longer : (

At first we were going to do Tahiti and Moorea but the pics from the Maldives quickly changed that!!!

@hopestruck:  flight was $2350 for both of us. There are many flight options from the NYC area though so that might’ve helped with the cost. Since we both work in government we got government rates at Conrad Rangali Island. It will be about $1,000/night for an overwater bungalow (an upgraded one). It does not include meals or transfers. The seaplane transfers are $360/person bc each resort is on it’s own atoll (island). I found it cheaper to book everything ourselves vs using a travel agent. However, I travel often (usually once a month or every other month) so I’m good at booking trips!

@hopestruck:  1,000/night no typo

However, most resorts with overwater bungalows are in that range. There are lower priced like $500/night but not with all the amenities we wanted like a private pool on the deck and the bungalow being far out from the rest…

ETA: this honeymoon is basically the one thing that my Fiance cared about the most and we figured we should do it while we have no kids. I already own a home, new car, etc so we just booked it!

We just booked our honeymoon to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, a couple of days ago! We chose it because we knew we wanted to just sit back and relax on the beach all day, get pampered with spa treatments, go on fun excursions, and eat lots of yummy food! Another big deal for us was that we were able to get the southwest rewards card with 50k miles, and have been using it for wedding expenses. It will pay for our flight there and back, which cut our cost of the honeymoon anywhere from 1/3 to 1/4.

@hopestruck:  It was my friend’s honeymoon trip that convinced me to change! I am having a kinda big wedding though so we wanted the ultimate, do nothing, exotic honeymoon. I wish we could travel to Cuba! I’m very jealous of that!
