Just asking for funsies and curiosity. My honeymoon is a surprise. The only thing I know is I need a passport. I have no idea what’s in store and have (sadly) never been out of the country so I don’t know what to expect or what I would like. Can’t wait to hear about your honeymoons! 💝

What a fun surprise! Did he give any hints about types of clothing to bring?
We spent a week in Florida and then later a week in Ireland. Both choices were influenced by cheap plane tickets, and Florida in the winter allowed us to escape the cold of the Midwest.

We live in Ft. Collins, CO and are planning go to Estes Park, CO. We have a very low budget and live in a place that pretty much feels like we’re always on vacation anyway. Plus, we got engaged in Estes Park!

craigslistgirl: How amazing you get 2 whole weeks! I’ve always wanted to see Ireland, did any factor beside plane ticket price influence that decision?
jnd224: I’ve heard Colorado is beautiful. How romantic to go back to the place you got engaged!

We are from Texas and getting married in June at the beach. So we are going to Quebec to escape the 100 degree weather and explore their older cities and culture. We are going to do 4 days in Montreal, 3 in Quebec City, and then 2 just outside a national park because we can’t miss a chance to hike in the mountains. I’m so excited to photograph and explore the architecture of the cities and the wildlife of the countryside. Also, French Canada is as close as we are going to get to Europe since we only graduated from college a year ago and don’t have that kind of money.
The surprise thing sounds SO much fun! But I’d be freaking the heck out about what to pack as far as weather and activities. Obviously a suitcase going to the Bahamas would be entirely different than one going to Europe!

lovelyruby: yay fellow texan! 🙂 do you all know French? Quebec sounds really cool and different. ninacorrine: all the pics I’ve seen of Belize look stunning! Haha I do know I will need beachwear. But there are so many beaches across the globe so i can’t narrow it down.

We are going to Ocracoke Island in NC because he has fond memories of vacationing there and I want to go but have never been. Plus we both love seafood, so the beach is perfect.

We are heading to Punta Cana. We have been to Mexico a few times and wanted somewhere beachy and warm that we hadn’t been to yet. So Punta Cana it is! We so considered Jamaica.

hyacinths: I am a seafood fanatic! Eat lots of lobster and crab for me! babs1689: how is Mexico?? All the pix I see are beautiful but I hear mixed reviews regarding safety and food quality. I’m sure it’s lovely, just curious.

We’re going to Mexico. I’ve never done the tropical, all-inclusive resort thing before and I was getting really stressed out trying to plan the honeymoon and booking a week at an all-inclusive took away all that stress! I’m really excited for our honeymoon!
We picked Mexico because we wanted to stay at a very highly rated resort and Mexico was the most budget friendly option for that. So we could have gone somewhere else but in Mexico we can afford a penthouse suite with our own private jacuzzzi on the balcony.

We are going to Florida!!
We wanted to go somewhere we had been before, since whenever we go to new countries or cities, we run around like crazy people trying to see all the sights. We will be getting married right after a busy time at my work, (and obviously there is the stress of wedding prep!) so we just want to decompress somewhere we don’t feel pressured to go explore.
After we narrowed it down to familiar turf, we each made a request. He requested somewhere warm. I requested somewhere not TOO far south since I have very sensitive skin. So we settled on Florida. In December it should be the perfect solution – warm but not crazy hot.
His Mom very genrously offered to pay for the Honeymoon, and encouraged us to pick a very nice resort, so I must admit I am VERY excited – almost more excited than I am for the wedding! haha!
Do you have any hints on what weather to pack for?? The surprise must be so exciting!!

We’re going to Paris for 3 weeks!
I’m not sure if we’re going in the summer or the winter. I live in Canada so I get plenty of winter, but there’s something about the holidays in Paris that is so appealing!
We chose it because I wanted a honeymoon in which we could just get up and roam. There’s os much culture and history and stuff that we’ll be busy. I’m not a big fan of excursions (swimming with the dolphins and what not as I’ve been there/done that) so I had no interest in a beachy destination. I just want to get some sightseeing on!
I’m from Quebec originally and I want to see the “other’ french haha

We went to Cabo. We had been there multiple times before and it was a place we love and are comfortable with, and feels kind of like “home away from home”. We wanted to go somewhere we could kick back and relax. When we do visit new places, we like to go on excursions, hikes etc and we didn’t really want to do that on our honeymoon. It was all about laying at the pool or beach, and heading to a few favorite restaurants in the marina.

We’re going to Tahiti for two weeks, and I may just never come home!
