I didn’t pick it. Fiance booked everything as a surprise. I wasnt supposed to know yet but he got excited and told me.

We are in the uk and ‘typical tropical’ destinations for honeymoon are dodgy weather wise at the time of year we’d want to go. So saving that for winter sunshine

so my requests were – short haul from uk, sandy beach, cocktails, somethings interesting to see and do.

Fi booked 10 days in Crete. In a suite in a chi chi hotel with an infinity pool etc. and a hotel in London when we get back so we can slowly return to ‘normal’!

cannot wait to holiday with my new husband ๐Ÿ™‚

We’re doing half a week in San Gimignano then half a week in Florence. We got engaged in SG, so we’re going back to celebrate 2 years later. Then some time to explore Florence to see the parts we missed last time.

Then we’re taking the train up to Munich, for a week of history, castle tours, fun and relaxation. We’ve never been to Germany.

ooo my nosy side loves reading where you’re all going! we have a little girl together and are having a two part wedding…. Part two being in The French Alps so we are having a week there immediately after the wedding…. We will have friends and family out there too and have some end of season skiing! Then four weeks later me and hubby will have a “mini moon” it’s a surprise for him …. We are doing a child free four nights Glamping in a posh tipi on a cliff overlooking the sea in Madeira. It looks heavenly! We love the outdoo good wine but I like a good sleep … The tipi   Has a bed so it’s very comfy and ticks all the boxes ๐Ÿ™‚

jazzybee26:  As long as you stay at a good resort in Mexico, you shouldn’t have any issues! Also, just don’t drink the tap water to be safe.  We stay at Live Aqua Cancun and have never had any issues, and the food and service there is wonderful!

  • Wedding: October 2016 - Waldorf Astoria, Orlando

I have the luxury of a big budget but a small guest list. We are getting married in Orlando, so as part of the “wedding” both sides of our family are doing four days at Walt Disney World. I know it isn’t part of the honeymoon, but our unofficial bachelor/bachelorette parties. The day after our ceromony we are having a farewell brunch for our guests and spending three more days on Disney property before going to Universal Studios Orlando for two days. After that we are going on a “Exotic Southern Caribbean Cruise” through Celebrity Cruises for 14 nights. It will be the longest vacation and time off of work he or I have ever had. I am SO excited about it. I cannot wait!

Also, requiring a passport sounds like great news!   It’s so exciting that you’re honeymoon is a surprise! I wish I wasn’t as OCD and need to plan literally every waking moment of my honeymoon and wedding…. A surprise sounds so lovely! You’re a lucky girl! I’m sure you’ll have a fantastic time! Congrats on your future wedding!!!

JessieFay13:  Snap, us too! Australian bee going to New Zealand for 26 days in Winter (June 2016) and roadtripping from north to south. We live in a tourist beach destination on the east coast of Australia where my view from my office is 50km of beachfront so I wanted to go somewhere that didn’t involve lying on the beach and the tourists that come with that. We have already travelled across Europe and looked at America though didn’t really have enough time (would like at least 4 to 6 weeks for that trip) and it was the wrong season for the other two main areas we wanted to visit (Japan – wet season/Canada – summer). So eventually we decided on NZ. We have both been to Queenstown in the south island before for a skiing trip which we both still class as one of the best places we have ever been so we are excited to see the rest of the country and go back to Queenstown. It is an easy enough holiday for us since its not too out of our comfort zone so we can relax, but its a totally new place to explore and a new stamp on the passport which was a must for us. Plus we love travelling to cold climates in winter.

10 weeks today until we leave!

I’m in the UK, we are going to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. It was a compromise of somewhere where neither of us had been, and also a more busy week of travel for me, with a week of sun, sea, sand & relaxation for Fiance. We’ve got a private driver for Sri Lanka and will be based out of 3 hotels, touring national wildlife parks, temples, natural wonders, the former capital city, buddha caves, tea plantations and a bit of mountain hiking ๐Ÿ™‚ Then off to a week in one of the larger Maldivian islands, staying in a water villa and winding down with plenty of water activities!

Ours is a combination destination wedding/mini-moon to Vegas. We’re road tripping out from Maryland to Vegas, having our bachelor/bachelorette night with friends the night before, getting married and then having a two day honeymoon in Vegas and then road tripping back. Originally we had discussed making it a two-week trip and exploring Cali, but due to FI’s grueling graduate school schedule we can’t stretch it any further than 8 days. Our two friends will still be out there with us as well, but it didn’t really matter to us to have them there during our “honeymoon”. We see them rarely, so we would rather have the extra two days of vacation with them.

I’ve never been to Vegas though, so I’m pretty excited.

We really can’t decide!!!!!!

We are thinking about two and a half weeks at any of the following:

Mexico (neither of us have been

Thailand (I’ve been twice so not my first pick)

Vietnam (neither of us have ever been)

Maldives/Seychelles (never been, looks like heaven but don’t know if I’d get bored?!)

Cancun, Mexico. It’s a short flight from our east coast location and was very affordable… leaving us a budget to do extra excursions on our honeymoon.

Bermuda. And we’ve been back 8 more times, in almost 40 years of marriage. There’s something about turquoise water and pink sand beaches. For almost all of those visits we rented scooters and explored almost every square mile, of the island.

P.S. We are not the all-inclusive resort types, as we don’t drink and I’m not a big eater.

Nine days in the Carribean. We are spending two days in Puerto Rico and then going on a 7 day cruise. So excited. I’ve cruised before but my FH has not.
