We are going to Finland! The resort is Kakslauttanen and we are getting an igloo suite.  The bedroom is the igloo and has glass ceilings and walls which affords you an amazing view of the Northern Lights.  We plan on doing some dog sledding, trip to Inari and some gold panning.  It’s a bucket list trip of ours and we don’t believe in waiting! If we are lucky enough to have a baby by then she/he will come with us.

jazzybee26:  it’s a toss up. We are pushing our honeymoon off for a few weeks as we are having a small intimate wedding in New Orleans, a celebration in so cal and a clam bake down the Cape. (Cape Cod.) All of that travel is family obligation. But in November it’s either Thailand or Bora Bora. We’re not sure yet. We’d get more for our dollar in Thailand but Bora Bora is gorgeous and those over water bungalows. But I’m going to leave this up to the FI

We haven’t set anything in stone yet, but thinking if its February we go then probably Negril, Jamaica. If its March we go then probably Puerto Plata, Domininican Republic. (Yes I’ve been keeping my eye on the weather app haha). However if we need to wait a few months because of money, we are liking the look of perhaps Sicily, Italy in late May/June.

However I may look up Florida after reading this thread!

I live in the UK so if anyone has any honeymoon questions….go ahead! I’ve also been to Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt, Rome, Amsterdam and Bruges past few years so if anyone wants to know more about them I don’t mind answering any questions.

madeinthe80s:  We went last year, but we were mainly in Dublin and a day trip to Waterford. It was so fun! You are from a beautiful country. We happened to be there when the voting results were released for gay marriage, so it was neat to see history in the making.

jazzybee26:  We really were looking for the most economical tickets to Europe since I’d never been, and Ireland was a great choice!

jazzybee26:  We’re doing a big honeymoon. We really love to travel and honeymooning and vacation is something we look forward to even more than our wedding LOL. So thus far we’ve planned to go for a 3-4 week one to: Maldives, Dubai, Turkey, and Thailand…. I know it’s all over the place, but it works out for us 😛 All we need to do now is figure out all the other logistics and book it

jazzybee26:  The weather in Thailand is pretty nice in winter, as monsoon season is done by August. When I was there, it was 70s and sunny.

We’re actually going in December–FH’s job is closed the last two weeks of the year, so he doesn’t have to take a whole lot of extra vacation. I work a 9/80 schedule, so I’m able to have days off without losing my vacay bank.

We’re Australian and we’re heading to the grand canyon national park, Vegas and coronado. We chose it because we tried to see the canyon from Vegas by light plane last year and missed out due to a thunderstorm so we decided to fly into pheonix and see it up close and from he air for our honeymoon. Can’t wait!!!

After looking and looking at Bora Bora and other places in the area (and dying inside a little at the prices!), at this point I am leaning toward using miles to fly first class to Nassau (from PNW) and then hopping over to stay in a private beach front villa on Eleuthera Island for two weeks for less than half the cost of Bora Bora. Ok, so no overwater bungalow, but I can float in the ocean on my noodle on my own pink sand deserted beach drinking something amazing!  And this island also has a surfing beach.  Double plus!! I love VRBO!

JessieFay13: My Fiance just threw out NZ!! I would love to go but we are in the US and logistics/cost seem tough for us. Any advice for locations/companies/cities to visit? We would love a mix of relaxing at a beach/pool and doing fun adventures like hiking or snorkeling. Do you have specific plans yet? I’d love to hear from someone more local-ish 🙂
