My husband & I didn’t get a honeymoon right after. We have waited over a year. But finally booked our very over due honeymoon for this July. We are going to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for 5 Days! We booked our hotel for 300 and some dollars!!!!!! We picked one that is not right on the beach but close. Also its a hotel we have stayed in before (in a different city) but we know what their hotels are like. (Very clean, roomy, ect.)

We found all kinds of things that are cheap but look fun. There is a casino ship that is only $10 a person for 12 hours, food included. They make all of their money on the gamblers. 😛 Still undecided on that one. haha Not sure if I like that its out on sea for 12 hours. BUT I told my husband it would be great practice since we want to take a cruise next year.

Also a boat tour, for 2 hours is $40, so for two will be $80. Deep sea fishing is like $35 a person for 5 hours, so $70 for two. & The list goes on! 🙂

I have never been to the beach, so it was a easy pick for us. Plus we can drive there, since it is only 7 hours away! & There is just soooo many things to do, we couldn’t pass it up for our first beach vacation.

Easily under $1000 including our hotel, gas, food & extras (boat tour, ect!)

I would do an off season cruise. You can get them for extremely cheap!

We’ve discussed a lot of options but I think we’re doing an all inclusive cruise. We don’t need a fancy room(it’s not us and only a few things will be done in that room anyway) so we’ve opted for a smaller, cheaper room. The food, drinks, and entertainment are covered.
We’ve been doing a lot of research and it looks like once you add in gas, one night hotel stay, ship costs, excursions, alcohol, stuff done off the boat, etc. We’re looking at $1500 as the higher part of our estimate but as calculating around cost at around $1000.
This all ends up being thousands of dollars cheaper than other similar vacations.

We wanted to go on a low key “minimoon” and were traveling from the NYC area.  I found an internet deal on jetsetter.com for a beautiful island inn off the coast of Portland, ME.  We paid about half their usual rate and stayed there for five nights.  It worked out beautifully.  Another discount site I check sometime is called sniqueaway.com.

ETA: Here is where we stayed: http://www.chebeagueislandinn.com/

Fiance and I will be spending a week in the mountains of Gatlinburg TN. Our budget is $2500, we will be spending $900 for a private cabin, maybe about $350 for gas (it’s a 10 hr drive from Michigan) and the rest is spending money.

We went to Cape Cod for our honeymoon and stayed at a B&B. It was a great choice for us and it came out to about $1000 with plane tickets, lodging, food and entertainment.

@MrsElopement:  This is what we’re doing–sort of. We’re thinking cruise to Canada, 6 months after the wedding, because they are crazy cheap (We just booked an eight day this summer for $500 total!). We’re also doing a mini-moon once we get back from our wedding cruise to New England, Savannah or Wiliamsburg–still ironing out those details.

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose:  I can’t wait. I would have never thought of TN, but a couple co-worker mentioned it and after doing some research Gatlinburg looks very entertaining and fun. Since we are going in October we should get beautiful views of the fall colors. We have mountain and wood views from our cabin.

We stayed pretty close by and stayed in the Texas Hill Country.  About a 4-5 hour drive for us, and plenty to do.   I’m not officially allowed to know what it cost, but I certainly imagine under $1,000.

We’re going to Las Vegas for our honeymoon and it ia quite inexpensive. We did a 6 day 5 night stay with airfare included for about $700 each. Also they have so many wonderful deals when you get there, so we will be taking advantage of that. Try groupons or social living they always have good deals.
