Right now I’m bouncing between Bora Bora (likely not since I don’t think I want to pay that much), Hawaii or Bahamas. I want to go somewhere gorgeous and fun that has good weather at the beginning of June.

Since Fiance and I just started new jobs (NO vacation time UGH!) we are taking a week “local” honeymoon at Disney.  We are living in Tampa so it’s super easy for us, and we both are freaking nuts about Disney.

We are planning on taking an anniversary trip to Thailand once we have the PTO reserves.  If I do out of country, I’m gonna do it right dammit, and take at LEAST 10 days.

Sounds like fun! Disney and Universal are awesome places to have your honeymoon.   ๐Ÿ™‚

We really wanted to do South Africa but wanted an outdoor wedding and any time that would have been warm enough for an outdoor wedding on the east coast would have been too cold for a honeymoon in Souty Africa. So we decided to do Greece for the honeymoon and South Africa for a New Years trip at the end of next year. I can’t wait!

viridianx:  when were you thinking about going to South Africa? I was over there last May/June and it wasn’t that cold at all.

ksn1219: We would be going mid June and it looks like it was in the 60s around that time last month. We’d like to make use of the beach in Cape Town or at least a hotel pool.

xstitchgal75:  Just to co-sign for a moment, I would DEFINITELY recommend Curaçao to anyone and Fiance and I are actually considering going BACK again for our honeymoon as well! The only thing making us a bit indecisive is that we are thinking about Jamaica instead since we are going on our honeymoon during the Christmas break and the prices are a lot lower if you book in the fall for travel that december (book in September).

While I only heard of one place in Curacao with all inclusive (Sunscape), the island is so safe and welcoming that you have the entire place at your fingertips! We rented a car from the airport which was super easy and cheap (only about $15/day and you just show your regular state license), you have the option of using their GPS (which I would recommend because i brought my own from home but it couldn’t get a satellite signal to load their map), and they drive on the same side as the US so you couldnt beat it! Its only like 45 minutes from one side of the island to the other and we got to explore the whole place.  Many of the  hotels have delicious restaurants (our fav was at Santa Barbara Hotel) and we stayed at the Marriott which in my opinion had THE BEST swimming pool (plus a swim up bar).  I casually bumped into Harry Belafonte in the downtown shopping district (where the buildings are a sight to see in and of themselves) because he was in town for the North Sea Jazz Festival that they host their every year labor day weekend (which we attended as well and which was loads of fun).

Our photographers for our wedding we actually met in Curaçao when we were thinking about a destination wedding their and they have agreed to come and shoot our wedding still which will be their first wedding shot in the States!  Fiance and I are very budget conscious and all and all you can’t beat the awesome time we had and for the price we paid. Easy access to everything, tons to do, GORGEOUS turquoise-colored water and white sand beaches, awesome people, beautiful hotels (at surprisingly affordable prices!), the list goes on and on.

I guess the way I am gushing about it we should probably head back there for the honeymoon then, huh?

viridianx:  it wasn’t so much the cold as it was the torrential downpours for days! The wind was also super bad. It is such a gorgeous place though! I can’t wait to take Fiance back one day! Would you do a safari or anything?

ktsteimel:  MONTREAL!!! We live in Southern Ontario, and we have been there before…so we know we like it there. It’s far enough, and different enough from our usual lives to feel like we are going away. But it’s cheap enough that we aren’t breaking the bank either. For a week of honeymoon fun (including hotel and train tickets) it is going to cost us about $2,500! How about that!

We are having a “just us” wedding at a fancy hotel. We will be staying at the hotel the night before the wedding then two nights after. Then we’re hiring a fancy cottage out in the country somewhere (haven’t decided where yet), staying for a week or two, going on long walks, eating good food and enjoying eachothers company. We are getting married on November so relaxing, cosy days in a cottage in the middle of nowhere will be perfect!

We live in Australia and we will be going to the U.S. for 6 weeks visiting Hawaii, San Francisco, New York, Memphis, cruise on the Mississippi for 8 days and New Orleans. Then we head to England (where I’m originally from) to spend Christmas and new year with my family for about 3 weeks. We’re thinking of a side trip to Lapland as my fiancé has never seen snow. We have a couple of days in Singapore on the way back to Australia. Leaving on 8th November.

My fh suggested this week that we take a few weeks to go Europe properly (instead of just the one we originally planned), I’m super pumped!  We’re getting married in Ireland, and we’re thinking of also seeing parts of Scotland, Irltaly, and France. Also considering Germany, Croatia, and new Zealand. So many places to see, we’ll have to pick and choose, but that’s a good problem to have, right?
