@CookieBee: it depends on the city/country.  1 euro in one paris wont get you as far as 1 euro in athens.  plus airfare obviously varies.  i spent 9 days in spain last year 2 hotels, 3 flights for 2 people $2700.  Booked myself, not thru an agent.  (non-honeymoon trip)

$1500 for a package to Park City, UT.  Flights, car, suite at the Waldorf Astoria Park City.  It’s right on the edge of ski season – that’s why we got such a deal.  I hope there are some slopes open, but if not, we’ll live.  We’re in Texas, so the idea of going somewhere warm after a summer of more than 60 100+ degree days was pretty horrific.  Cold, here we come!  We can snuggle by the fire in our suite.  Or swim in the heated outdoor pool while it’s snowing.

We are doing:

Paris 7 nights (Appartment)

Amsterdam 3 nights

Prague 3 nights

Florence 4 nights

Rome 5 nights

Bangkok 4 nights

Staying in 4 or 5 star and boutique hotels.

Including spending $$ it is costing us $16,000 which is more than the wedding! We are saving though, no debt. I cant believe it but I think we have the most expensive honeymoon in this thread so far, but my Fiance is quite insistant on staying at the best reviewed places on trip advisor. Which is great.

I am looking very much forward to it honestly!

Travel is a huge priority for us and we are not planning on having kids and already have a house so its not like we need to put the money away for anything pressing 🙂

We travel every year!

We have two stops… Napa/Calistoga for 3 days, then off to Costa Rica for 11 days. We’re doing three spa resorts, so with airfare, lodging and spa treatments, $5K.

We’re going on a Mediterranean Cruise for 11 days and visit Capri/Naples, Rome, Istanbul, Ephesus, Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini. We are then staying an extra night in Rome before heading back. Altogether with a balcony room, flights, overnight hotel, and spending money we will be around $9,500 or so, which is $2,000 over our original honeymoon budget. We’ve always wanted to visit these countries and love to travel, so the cruise is a great way to sample so many different cities in different countries! We’re both super excited!

We are doing a road trip from the west coast of the US to the east coast. We are doing it over 30 days and the cost so far is about 8k. We both live in the UK and have never been to the US so very much looking foward to it.

12 nights in Las Vegas,

the Honeymoon cost us £2,900 and we will be taking enough spending money to allow for £200 a day.  ( $300)

our honeymoon is costing approx the same as our wedding, we scaled down the wedding guests so that we could do it……we are having a small (25 guests)  wedding and i am so happy to be doing that.

we got married in August, booked our honeymoon in October, and going in February. We’re going away for 13 days (10nights…) to Australia! 5 nights at Hayman Island in some shi-shi exclusive resort, and 5 nights in Sydney 4 seasons hotel. Found the deal on Groupon – $6K (plus another $300 to add that extra night in sydney)

question.. what jobs do you people have that let you leave for two weeks to a solid month for your honeymoon? I’m lucky that Fiance and I could take 10 days off, which is only 6 business days. Though I guess we both have higher up positions at smaller companies that arent easy to have someone else cover for us. But a solid month?? how do you do that?? Im so jealous.

We are going skiing in Switzerland for 7 days (travel takes 2 days each way)My dad bought flights with points so our cost is only going to be around $3k for EVERYTHING including new ski gear for me (about $800). If we had bought our flights cost wouldve been closer to $5k. Im going to have to let Fiance know that we are still definitely on the cheaper side of everyone else taking international trips! Maybe I can talk him into some upgrades 🙂

@9ja4life: That sounds like such a fun trip!  I’ve actually been wanting to do a cross-country road trip for a while, as the last time I went on this kind of trip was when I was little (8 years old?) and didn’t really appreciate everything I was seeing.  Enjoy!

@futuremrswight: We’re both grad students, so we’re actually doing our wedding and honeymoon over our winter break.

We’ll be spending 7 days in Italy (not counting a travel day on either end) – 5 days in Rome, 2 in Venice.  Including flights, Eurail passes, hotels, and spending money, our budget for the trip is $5000.

@SadieBee: Thanks! Really looking foward to it. We have made a must see, doable and passing through list.

@futuremrswight: I teach, SO works for the council. We are lucky our leave years are in sync – runs from July to July so we will be taking 2 weeks out of each leave year. Statutory annual leave in the UK is 20 business days which is a month. I am on 31 days and he is on 38 days.
