My FH only gets a week off from work a year so we are having a small, short honeymoon right after the wedding in May 2014 and then planning a tropical vacation at the beginning of 2015 to escape Colorado’s winter cold.
We will be spending our first night at a luxury B&B (http://www.highlandhaven.com/) near our venue and then we will be leaving for our trailer honeymoon adventure. We are getting a travel trailer as a wedding present so we are going camping for about 4 days. We will be going to Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park to do some intense hiking, rock climbing, and possibly some kayaking. In January 2015, we will take our tropical fancy honeymoon to a Couples resort in Jamaica.
What are your honeymoon plans? I love hearing about vacation – they make me so excited!

Commenting to see what others say. We are putting off our honeymoon so we’re still trying to figure out where we will go!

We spent ours at Disney World, it was amazing! I know some people prefer a more adult-oriented type thing, but it really wasn’t the way we did it. And we got a great deal because I’m a frequent visitor there, so they send me lots of discount codes. But I wanted to make sure my honeymoon trip blew all of the others out of the water, and it really did!
We stayed at the Contemporary Resort, which is a modern hotel right by the Magic Kingdom that the monorail drives through the middle of – it’s a deluxe resort that I’d never stayed at because of the cost. When we arrived someone greeted us at the door to congratulate us on our honeymoon and tell us we were getting a free upgrade – they put us in a suite on the concierge level where our room had a balcony with a view of the Magic Kingdom (they even piped in the fireworks music at night), a free fancy dessert bar and alcohol in the special lobby (you needed the room key to even get to our floor/lobby – you swiped your room key in the elevator, which I loved doing because it made me feel super special, haha!), and they were constantly leaving things in our room like balloons and rose petals and chocolate dipped strawberries during the day while we were out at the parks. We ate at the fanciest restaurants, had a private fireworks cruise to watch Illuminations from so we wouldn’t have to deal with the normal pushing that goes on during it, and of course went on lots of awesome rides. Best vacation ever =)
I’m admittedly not much of an outdoorsy person, I enjoy like a day of kayaking, but hiking…eh, I have asthma and hate bugs, so I’m good lol. But it sounds perfect for you guys! And that Couples Resort is supposed to be amazing – I’d love to go there sometime, it just sounds so relaxing.

We are staying at an all-inclusive resort for a week in Barbados! I can’t wait to tour the caves, swim with the sea turtles, and dance the night away to live reggae music!

Oh my gosh I’m so glad you shared this! I would love love love to go to Disney for our honeymoon but have yet to convince Fiance. Maybe we can compromise if I point out that we can still stay at a luxury hotel and eat at fancy restaurants! Now I’m going to be researching a Disney honeymoon allll day!

We are spending time at Gettysburg and Washington DC! Neither one of us wanted to lay around a resort for a week, and I’ve been taking beach vacations with my family since I was 5, so that’s no longer fun or exciting. Our hotel suite is awesome and will be perfect for some sexy time, but we also wanted to have stuff to do and see during the day as an option. We’re both big into history and museums and that type of thing, so we’re very excited!! 🙂

We live in the USVI! Don’t know where we are going yet but it’s not a beach! The USVI is a great place to visit, beautiful Caribbean Sea and no passport needed! 🙂

We’re going to Aruba! 5 days, nothing too crazy, but we are sooo excited. Since we’ve been long distance for 4 of the last 5 years, neither of us has taken a vacation in years, since our “vacations” are always to go see each other! The idea of a real vacation, going somewhere with the sole purpose of relaxing and enjoying ourselves, is hard for me to get my mind around, but I’m pumped 🙂

We’re going to DisneyWorld! We’ve both never been and my mom offered her time share for us so we’re staying 3 miles away from the parks. At least I don’t have to worry about paying for that part.

We really wanted to go to Disney World but decided it was out of our price range 🙁
So now we have decided on taking a cruise from Miami to the Bahamas. We will be purchasing the deluxe honeymoon package so it should be special and romantic.
Disney will have to wait for an anniversary!
