Are you having any drinks or cake? Photography booked? Those are the only things that I noticed that you didn’t mention. Everything else sounds lovely! I would just make sure that your reception space (ie: barn or tent) is doable ahead of time!

The only things we have left to do is:

– Send out invitations in August

– Take engagements this summer

– Finalize rehearsal dinner

– have my makeup and hair trial this summer

– dress alterations

– grooms attire

– buy alcohol/flowers

– Write vows!

I think that’s all though I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few things!

So I’m pretty much done with planning. I only have these minor things to finalize:

Ordered a sample invitation so once it comes in, I can approve it and get those ordered (will send them out in mid-late July)

Dress alterations (to be started in July/August)

Groom needs to get his attire (he’s going on June 8th)

Finalize flowers/centerpieces (hopefully doing that sometime in June/July)

Make favors (have the supplies, I’m just lazy)

Hair and makeup trials (will probably have this done for the Bachelorette party)

I think that’s it 🙂

@leahlou:  Hi date twin!!!

We have accomplished a lot so far in the month of May… compared to doing next to in the months of March and April. We have:

  1. Booked a hair/makeup artist, and have my trial set for June.
  2. Booked our cake baker.
  3. Found and purchased my cowboy boots that I’ll be wearing.
  4. My vows are mostly done; there are just two lines that I am not happy with yet.
  5. I have some inquiries out to florists for pricing information for my bouquet.
  6. My mom has finally found the lace applique that she is going to use to make my veil. <— I know, so special, right?
  7. My mom has also started on hand-making our quilted table runner that will be our ‘guest book.’ <— Her idea <3
  8. Today I just finished all of the wording for our invitations and accompanying inserts, and am emailing them to my Etsy person to get that ball rolling!

I do still need to start actually working out because I’d like to lose about 10 pounds (being realistic).

I also need to start drafting all the letters that I plan to give to the important people on that day while we’re all getting ready (fiance, my mom and dad, mother-in-law, etc.)

Over the summer I want to try to manipulate my mom into doing all the crafty DIY projects get as much DIY stuff done as I can so I’m not scrambling come September.

We’ll send invitations mid-July; start dress alterations end of July-ish and purchase FI’s attire; August purchase our wedding rings, and I’ll do a boudior shoot.

There is still so much to do, but for the most part it’s little things.

  • Still need to figure out transportation
  • finalize menu with caterer
  • have a meeting with the florist and pick out flowers
  • find hair & makeup vendors, but I hope to get that taken care of this week
  • find a veil I like & purchase it!
  • decide on music for the ceremony
  • take our engagement photos (appointment on June 29th)
  • work on programs
  • work on out of town bags
  • choose accessories for myself & bridesmaids
  • book a calligrapher
  • send out invites at the 8 week mark (August 24th)

I’m sure there are plentyyyy more things on this list, but I can’t think of anything else at the moment!

It sounds like you have a good idea of what still needs to get done.  The only thing I would suggest is making sure you have enough bathrooms for the number of guests.  Good luck with the rest of your planning!

As far as my planning is concerned, I’ve done most of the big things.  I just need to:

  • Start dress alterations in July
  • Look and pay for wedding rings
  • Pay off honeymoon
  • Find wedding shoes.  My feet are wide and I don’t want heels, it’s been one of the most difficult things I’ve done so far
  • Send out invitations in August
  • Find and purchase gifts for bridal party
  • Choose favors
  • Order wedding cake (we’re doing that in a few weeks – yay!)
  • Make table numbers for reception
  • Order and frame guest book for reception
  • Purchase jewelry for the bridesmaids

Hopefully this summer flies by for all of us October brides.  I’m excited!
