Since I can’t find a veil that I like and that doesn’t cost a lot, my mom offered to make my veil 🙂 She’s an excellent seamstress, so I’m ok with it. Now I have to find an off white/soft white tulle. I was thinking about buying a few yards of silk tulle, but I don’t know where to buy.
I googled silk tulle, but I would like to have some reliable store. I already looked in etsy and ebay, but that color (off white) it’s actually hard to find :p If not, I guess I can go with the normal ilussion tulle, it’s ok.

You can easily find tulle at most fabric stores. I would google the nearest fabric store location where you live.
Good luck with your search! 🙂

I’ve never heard of silk tulle. Jo Ann fabrics has the normal stuff (I think it’s nylon?)

If you can get a swatch of the color of your dress to bring with you, so that you can match. There are so many slight variations in the colors tulle comes in.

If you go to JoAnn’s make sure you check the website first to see if there’s a coupon.

in my opinion, Americans in general can’t tell the difference between silk tulle and synthetic. If you have your heart set on silk tulle, talk to a local high end fabric store – and bring your smelling salts – you just might faint when you hear the pricing. Britex in San Francisco had some of the best tulle and vintage lace I’ve ever seen but I’m sure you can find it locally – you might just have to order it depending on where you live.
By the way – lucky you to have such a lovely mom! 🙂

Thank you everyone for your answers. After talking to my mom, she said that it could be the normal tulle, not necessarily silk. So I’m going with nylon one.
@aajune2011: Thanks!!! I’m going there tomorrow 😀 I hope they still have that sale going on.
@sfchick: I am very happy to have such lovely mom 🙂 I’m also very excited, because it will be a beautiful veil made with lots of love.

I’ve also been searching for silk tulle! There are very few places to buy it (Joanns doesn’t carry it). Britex is currently out, however it should be in stock soon, though there price is $100/yard!
I have found it for about $60/yard, though nikki’s boutique (on etsy) makes it for about the same price I have found the fabric for!

Try fabricland. They have lots of tulle. And I saw some that had a slight shimmer to them. I think those are PERFECT veil material. Unfortunately my Mother-In-Law already bought me a veil so I was am not able to get this one.

Thank you all for your answers and suggestions 🙂
Well, in the end, I bought a plain veil from Etsy, because it fits the color of my dress exactly. It’s doble tier and super plain, BUT my mom is going to sew something nice to it, we’re not sure what but probably some lace or embroidery 🙂 So it actually looks prettier 😀
