I’m looking for a website where I can download free fonts. I tried fontfreak.com and for some reason I can’t get them to work on my computer. I have an HP Vista computer. Has anyone had any luck with websites using Vista? Please let me know! Thanks so much!

I had good luck with 1000freefonts.com and I’m on a Vista 32-bit machine.

So, this might be really stupid of me, but once you DL the fonts, how do you open then/get them to work? do you have to import them or something? I’m super confused.. when I try to open it, it just says file not available.. any advice would be awesome, thanks so much !!

When I download fonts, I usually end up with a zipped folder on my desktop. I open the zipped folder and drag the actual font file onto the desktop (If they’re True Type, you’ll know them by the blue "TT", if Open Type, they’ll have a black and green "O". Those are the ones you want to drag.) Anyway, after dragging to the desktop, I open the Control Panel and then the Fonts folder. With the Fonts folder open, I drag the downloaded fonts from the desktop into the folder. It’s that easy.
I’m sure that there are other ways you can do it. That’s what works for me. :o)
PS: http://www.fontgarden.com is another source for free fonts. Have fun!
