I’m about 21″-22″ around the waist and about 35 inches around the hips. For my waist measurement am I suppose to be measuring around the smallest part of my “middle” between my bust and hips, thats what I have been measuring, up near my rib cage. Anyway whateve jeans fit in the hips are way too big around the waist and the ones that should fit around the waist I can’t even pull up and zip. I buy shirts but I get all mu other stuff custom made and I really want some nice well fitting jeans anyone have any ideas?

I’m chunkier, but we have the same type of figure – about 13″ difference between waist and hips. I like Gap Curvy brand.

@abbyful: Looks interesting, but I’m confused by their sizing chart. If I am 28″ in the waist and 41 in the hips, which size should I get?

The Levi’s website will make jeans custom fit for your measurements. They are a little pricey but Levi’s last for a long, long time.

I have had really good luck with Coldwater Creek’s jeans.
Also – it may be worth it to get the jeans tailored at your waist a bit. Sometimes you’re better off making the jeans fit how you want versus searching everywhere to try to find ones that fit off-the-bat when you aren’t really a “standard” size/shape.

Fit your hips and legs and then pay the $15 to have the waist taken in. Its really worth it.

If you’re willing to pay more, I recommend MEK jeans, they go by waist size instead of standard sizes 2, 4, 6, etc. I love mine. Almost any of the brands are Buckle are a nice, high quality jean.
What brands (if any) have you had luck with in the past?

I like Jbrand. They are pricey, but I have hips and a tiny waist- so I need something to come up high enough -otherwise = yikes! I like the high waist Bette.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I have gone to all the sites you ladies have suggested and ordered a few pairs and waiting to see how they will turn out. Thanks again everyone! Bees are the best!

@USAandKSA: I don’t know where you live, but I am outside of Philadelphia. We have a huge mall out here and they have this kiosk-type thing where you stand inside of it and it “scans” your body and tells you which stores and what sizes to look for!
I’ve never done it but it looks pretty awesome!!

I agree! JBrand is great. I got a pair at a thrift store that I love, and I’ve seen them at Nordstrom Rack for a fair price. I’ve had good luck at Banana Republic, too. Plus, even though it is mostly for teens, American Eagle fits, if you can find some that aren’t too low and excessively “distressed”
