Our short list was this:

1. Something warm in the carribean (It will be the end of April in NYC so still somewhat chilly)

2. Ireland

3. Mediterranean

And we ended up picking a mediterranean cruise ๐Ÿ˜€ We’ve been lucky enough to go to Ireland (I’m currently studying in Scotland, so when he came to visit we made the short 30min plane ride over there) and we were in Mexico at an all inclusive both last January and will be this coming January for a country music festival, so we figiured we’ve done the carribean enough. Fiance is also the type to get very very bored easily, we only spent one day sitting by the pool last January. The rest we were out and about climbing pyramids and caves, etc.

So the mediterranean cruise sounded the best for us! We wanted to be sure to visit Greece and Italy and Turkey, didn’t want to bother with unpacking and repacking to move to each country, and we will only be spending 2-3 days at sea, so plenty of excitement for Fiance. I’m sad we have to wait so long to go…lol

We spent two week in Colorado skiing. We live at the beach, and go to a lot of tropical destinations each year for DH’s job….so even though I wanted Hawaii (as that’s the one place I’ve never been) I gave in and we did a winter mountain honeymoon because Darling Husband loves to ski. We had a blast.

We rented a large 3 bedroom house – DH’s requests were hot tub and wood fireplace. On a whim we booked our tickets to come in a day early before our house was ready and stayed in this adorable B&B one town over – which was super nice because we were able to get everything we needed (pick up lift tickets, hit the store, etc) and get in a half day of skiing before our “rental” even started.

We ate lunch out on the mountain every day, but cooked at the house most meals. We did a few dinners out, but we ski hard and usually after coming in and showering we have no energy to go back out to dinner.

We’re planning to do 12 days in Ireland and I am so stupidly excited about it! I’m having more fun planning the trip and booking hotels than I am with planning the actual wedding. Clearly my priorities are travel first, party second. We’re splurging and spending a night at this fabulous place right on the edge of a cliff with a Michelin star restaurant to boot. Is it May yet? I’m ready to go now!

mishinthecity:  A good friend of mine just got back from Turkey, and he said it was the most amazing place he’s ever been! It was his favourte trip so far, and we are quite well-travelled, so that is saying a lot! I asked him about the unrest and instability of surrounding areas, and he said it didn’t seem to be much of an issue! Now I want to plan a trip to Turkey too!

We went to Jamaica and had the time of our lives ๐Ÿ™‚

We went to Paris, Pisa, Cinque Terre and Rome over the course of 2 weeks. It was November so there were no crowds (my favorite time to go!) and we just had a blast. Can’t wait to return to Cinque Terre in the summer though!

We’re going to San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico! my aunt has a worldmark timeshare and she gifted us a week stay wherever we wanted to go and Fiance didn’t want to fly a long time. It’s all paid for between the in-laws and my aunt! We’re so excited ๐Ÿ™‚

He wants to Honeymoon in Puerto Rico so that is what we will do. I don’t care either way honestly and since he is giving me the easy breezy wedding in Vegas that I want, I want him to have the Honeymoon that will float his boat.

Since I live in the UK Europe isn’t that exciting for us as we go a few times every year, so for our Honeymoon we are going to Vegas for a week, then LA for 3 days 4 nights, then off to Florida for 10 days to do Disney etc. one last time before (hopefully god willing) we have babies….I see it as my last chance to be a child at Disney ๐Ÿ˜€
