J. crew! Love the quality (silk) and they are always on sale or can be found pre-loved. All 4 of my girls got their dress for under $140

Alfred Angelo, for about $130 each after discounts.  Quality was okay at best – the sashes/bows on the dresses started to become detached throughout the evening. No big deal, but just a little annoying!

I also had my girls purchase their dresses from Jcrew! They actually got theirs for $99.99! The quality is amazing and most of them have worn the dress again! I also bought the dress in a soft mint green color to wear on my honeymoon and I’ve worn it a handful of times since. Try to buy them off season if you go this route. My wedding was in June 2012 and they purchased the dresses in August of 2011 the day the color went on sale!

@Tallulah_:

alfred angelo – dresses cost $139.  i picked the color and told the girls they could pick any dress they wanted, they all picked the same.

quality is very nice and i made sure they would wear these again.

Davids. They were $129.99. Very nice quality, nice dress, their service sucks.

Nordstrom. I get free alterations and the girls could use Nordstrom notes to purchase.

The bride wants us to choose our own dresses, within a given color scheme and length (knee length).  After shopping everywhere I found the PERFECT lavender chiffon-y dress from Marshall’s, for (I shit you not) 20 bucks…plus paid 30 bucks for alterations.  She loves it, and I can wear it again  🙂

Because we were on an extreme budget, and I had a lot of bridesmaids, I bought them all Forever 21 dresses. They looked great on all the girls, were comfortable, and were rewearable, perfect for Kauai, where we had the wedding.

@Tallulah_:  Alfred Angelo.

Why:

1) Went to David’s Bridal for two separate appointments, both were horrible experiences, and they didn’t have the style we were looking for (we loved on style, but ultimately the service and AA’s quality won out).

2) AA was only slightly more expensive than DB

3) the service/experience was INFINITELY better. it was quiet, the girls were attentive and friendly and stayed with you for the majority of the appt (while the DB consultants were 20 minutes late both times and were no where to be found for the whole appointment)

4) they had two styles we were big fans of

Ultimately the girls were willing to spend the extra $50 for the better service and slightly higher-quality dresses.

@Tallulah_:  Hello.  I purchased my bridesmaids dresses online from JJ’s house. After discount they came to just over $85 each. I was very happy with the dress.

This is my Maid/Matron of Honor before alterations.

I haven’t ordered yet (my wedding is over a year away) but I have been using weddingtonway.com which is an AMAZING website if your bridesmaids live all over the country like mine and you are planning to spend more than $100 per dress. Definitely worth checking out!
