I’m in Australia and I used Goody Goody Gum Drops but also found watching to see when stuff when on special in the supermarket could be even cheaper too!

@wabanzi:  I ordered supplies/ingredients for my sweet n salty buffet from amazon, but I baked/made everything at home.

@wabanzi:  I’d be a bit hesitant to estimate based on weight – some candies are much lighter than others so you could be looking at a HUGE volume of candy.  I’ve selected a total of 32lbs and I also have a 150 invite.  I looked more at the size container I am putting out for the guests and used that to estimate how much candy it would take to fill one.  I figure the people who don’t take any will make up for the people who go back for more.

Just a thought.  🙂

ETA:  Also, I read that you should buy for the overall look you want your treat/candy buffet to have rather than buying just enough for each person.  Means you’ll probably have tons leftover though.  I think I bought the right sized jars though so that the amount per person should fill them completely.  I get the look I want without tons leftover (theoretically).
