@StL.Ashley:  I think it just really depends on how much renting costs in your area. For me, renting would have run me way over budget. Since you have nearly a year to go, you could wait it out a bit and check out sales. I just bought a bunch from linentablecloth.com on sale, and got a great deal (the sale is over now). The other thing to take into consideration is you can resell linens you buy, reducing the cost further.

I’m looking at linens myself. Check out linentablecloths.com. It’s a website that I stumbled upon. It seems to have quality table linens at an affordable prices especially in comparison to just renting them. I’m planning on selling them when I’m done.

@StL.Ashley:  Are you opposed to buying them used? We needed a ton of linens so all of mine were purchased from previous brides at $5 or less per cloth (including shipping, when applicable). I’ve spent around $300 and I have  44 rectangular, 14 rounds, 30 runners, 25 overlays, 104 chair sashes (still need more) and 80 chair covers (still need more). I still need napkins though too. I will resell after my wedding for half of what I paid as well, so the total cost will be very little.

Craiglist is a great place to search, especially in a larger city.  Avoiding shipping charges is the key.

We got our table cloths for $10 each at Big Lots – spent $113 for 10 cloths in various sizes (the $13 because of the Ontario tax). They were all nice brocade cloths that have at this point hold up really well through 2 washes. I’m so pleased with them, so if you have a Big Lots close to you I definitely think it’s work looking into.

This site shows you all the Craigslist sites at one time. It saves a lot of time. You don’t have to do separate searchs on every city near you.You can filter by region to narrow down the results.

tableclothsfactory.com has them for $11.58/ea and free shipping. We bought our runners from there.
