We didn’t have favors, we didn’t upgrade our liquor package, and we used the standard linens that were provided, as opposed to getting more expensive ones at a cost.

We also said no to silly things:  our venue in Mexico would provide a parrot to fly the rings in.  Super fun and cute, but definitely not worth the $300 price tag!  We just had their standard cake, which was included in the package.  We also said no to additional decorations, and we didn’t have programs either.

We splurged on photography, and we spent extra to extend the reception by an hour.

Flowers! Saved $2200 going with silk. DJ also saved us a lot, we got one but not the best one/all the light packages.

Probably also saving a few grand on alcohol by bringing in our own and not paying $6-9 a drink (those are the prices here at least).

Also table decor! I’m making my own table runners out of cheesecloth. And ordered candles in bulk, got table numbers for $5 from Ali express.

We were also gonna pass up on the limo and just drive 2 of our big SUVs but my parents thought was ridiculous and got the limos for us.

We cut corners on our alcohol consumption, we only served our signature drink during cocktail hour no other alcoholic beverages were offered. The bar was closed during dinner wine and beer were offered after dinner the bar was opened.
