David’s Bridal. Mine was $480, which included taxes. I was very happy with my dress.

My dress was $550 from a sample sale.  I could have bought any number of dresses less than that price, if I had wanted.  The selection was huge.  This is the time of year to start sample hunting.  All of my local salons did their sales between September and November!

See if you can check out a sample sale or buy off the rack.  I got mine at David’s Bridal off the rack for about $500.  Also, if you buy from a bridal salon, check out local seamstresses for alterations (especially see if you can find out which alterations shops have the bridal salon contracts- you’ll get someone who works on wedding gowns all the time and not have to pay the salon overhead!)

I ordered mine from lightinthebox.com.  It was less than $250, which included customization to my measurements and shipping.  🙂

I put $300 down on DB dress, than a girl at work had worn the same dress/same size for her wedding so she gave me hers.  So I canceled the DB, store credit to the BM’s for their dresses.  After my wedding I put my dress on Craigslist as a pay it forward free dress, and someone came the next day to get it.  You might want to try Craigslist.

Ebay! I got it used from another bride for $75, it fit perfect, and I couldn’t be happier, it was the perfect option for me because I wanted a low, low price but still a big dress and not super crappy fabric. You just have to be patient with searching through it until you find something you like.

Stalk sample sales at high end shops and online!  I got my designer silk gown for a FRACTION of the retail price!

Here’s the store that is featured on I Found the Gown that sells sample gowns: http://www.bridepower.com.

Simply bridal! They have an L.A. showroom, but you order online. Gowns are $400 max, many are only $99-$250!
