We got them from amazon.com I have no idea how many, Darling Husband ordered them like a week before the wedding. The ones we got were sold as wedding sparklers but they were actually rather short and burned out quickly so many people used more than 1. I know several people left before the end but we had more than enough sparklers to account for one per person.

Since it is about to be fourth of July, maybe you can buy some at a local fireworks shop?

Right now would be the best time to get them. Pick up a bunch at a fireworks stand. You won’t have to pay for shipping and they’re pretty inexpensive. I would get 150, just in case. They come in boxes of 10 if you use the gray ones. They’re really inexpensive.

If i do plan on doing this, i’d get them at the dollar store, walmart or party city/party packagers.

Bump. Anyone order from sparklersrus.com? How many should we buy if we are expecting 150 guests?

order one per guest.  you don’t need more than that.  not everyone will want to have one anyway.  Here’s a good link:

Their prices are verrrry good too! The people that work there are super friendly too and will make sure you get your order in time, even if you order late like me! Captainboom!

We had 170 guests and our wedding planner recommended we order 100. That was more than plenty, some of our guests had 3-4 in their hands. Darling Husband and I both feel the sparkler send off was worth every penny. It is one of our favorite moments of the evening.

We bought through our venue so I can’t help you with where to buy them. Ours were $1 each though. I would also make sure you get ones that are long enough to last at least 2-3 minutes. Otherwise they will start to burn out before you can even finish lighting them.

How about matchboxes/books?  One per sparkler/guest?

I have a question on this.  we are doing the sparkler send-off as well.  I was originally going to do bubbles but since it is a night time reception, I didn’t think they would show up good in pictures and the venue had pictures of a wedding where they did sparklers and I fell in love with them.  We are having 100 people and she suggested that we only get 50 sparklers that are 18 in long as she says 1/2 of the guests will probably leave before the send off.  Is this true?  I am concerned that I will not have enough sparklers for everyone.  Advice.

MzGT_062213 We had bought personalized matchbooks for them to use as well but I just found out that she suggested to buy 2 of the 3 wick candles from Walmart to use for our guest to light.  She says the matches take to long to light.  So now we are just putting the matchbooks around such as the outside area and by the bar for the guests to help themselves to.
