This may be kind of a stupid question but I’m getting confused among a sea of websites. Where did you get your Save-The-Date Cards (or where would you recommend getting them from)? How much were they? And do they go out to everyone you’re inviting to the wedding or just the Out of Town people? TIA!

We made all of ours, bought everything from Hobby Lobby. Sent the STD’s to everyone besides my mom because she doesn’t read English, lol she’s a crazy asian lady

We wanted magnets and got them from VistaPrint. We ended up getting lucky and buying a Groupon that was $60 worth of stuff for $15 with them. We paid (after the Groupon and including shipping) $40 for 100 magnets. They only required one stamp to mail… which was a nice surprise!

I wasn’t looking to spend a lot of money on them so we ordered ours from Vistaprint. The paper quality could have been better (even after we upgraded to the highest quality) but all in all they were nice and we got a lot of compliments on them. I think we spent like $50 plus postage for 40 or so cards. We sent ours to everyone on our “A” list. Those on our “B” list (some distant relatives and coworkers) didn’t get one just incase we had to cut the guest list.

I designed my own and had them printed by overnightprints.com.

This is a super helpful thread- cause I have been wondering the same things! My other question is how early do you send them out?

We made our own and had them printed at FedEx/Kinkos for way cheap. We sent them out to all guests on our guest list, and we sent them about six months before the wedding.

We are getting ours from 123print.com
you can pick from theirs or design your own. They dont charge to upload pictures like other sites.

I downloaded a template off the Internet anD had them printed at office max. 30 for 100 it was a big deal to me to not spend a lot of money because I am sure they willjust get thrown away. We also did postcards so I had saved money on postage also.

I also used Vistaprint! I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on my save the dates, and was happy to get something nice for so little.

I got magnet Save-The-Date Cards from Vistaprint. I used a template that I downloaded from the Vistaprint website to design the Save-The-Date Cards on my computer using Photoshop (that I bought on sale from Amazon). I used my e-pics and some digitial scrapbooking collage templates that I found on the Scrapbooks Etc website. Then I waited until Vistaprint had a sale and ended up getting my Save-The-Date Cards for 70cents a piece (which includes the photo upload fee and S&H). I found the envelopes in the clearance section of Staples. I’m going to print the mailing addresses on the envelopes using the “Mailing” tab of Microsoft Word. I already have the return address labels. A Bee posted a few months ago that Vistaprint was offering a bunch of free items so I got address labels for free (didn’t even have to pay S&H). I also found a really cute butterfly stamp and ink at Michaels. I had a 50% off coupon that worked for the ink and the rubber stamp was already on clearance. I can use that to jazz up the envelopes. Just need the stamps and I’ll be all set.

I’m really not very creative and so I’m thinking we might want to go the pre-made route. And I love the magnet idea! @csperry2: Do you happen to know how much they generally cost without the groupon?
@MaggieL: I’ve been wondering this myself too….I visit the October 2012 boards frequently and a lot of those bees have already sent theirs out, which makes me feel like I’m behind!! Ahhh!

I am buying mine from weddingpaperdivas.com. I also some some really, really creative ones at peartreegreetings.com. I was planning to be creative, but I ended up going the traditional route because of time. I need to order them asap!
