@This Time Round:  Dangit. None of my friends who hve been mentioned hotels, I should have known better!! We will come from Cleveland, stop in Chautauqua for a few nights (and since Southern Tier brewery isn’t far, we’ll probably stop there). I hadn’t really started to plan yet…waiting to make sure my partner gets the time off approved before I get to looking up hotels

TO @MsLobizon: Re – Accommodations

That isn’t to say that there is nothing in Cooperstown… just a lack of brand name chains (that usually are a bit more affordable).  What they do have is some high-end resorts, country inns, and comfy B&Bs… and maybe a few Mom & Pop Motels.

If this is your Honeymoon, you’ll probably do fine… as one of the Resorts or Country Inns might just fit the “nicer” category quite well.

Anyways… here are some links that might prove useful…

Cooperstown Tourism = http://www.thisiscooperstown.com/

TripAdvisor – Cooperstown NY (Travel Guide) = http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Tourism-g47529-Cooperstown_New_York-Vacations.html

Hope this helps,

@MissCapeCod:  Thank you for your comment and I like the idea of wearing my wedding dress. I first thought of wearing a different dress because my wedding venue was perfect for the dress I wore. This celebration will be in a different climate and very different place. I’m thinking that I want my original dress to “stand alone” as my dress that I was married in and another dress for the celebration of our married life.

@This Time Round:  Thanks for the heads up on how expensive an official ceremony would be on a cruise ship. Any other ideas Bees??

TO @Old Hollywood:  I am sending you a PM with more info.

But YES, my regular cruise line On-Board Ship Weddings start at $ 2500.00 (and that is pretty basic… and without a Reception etc)

Same Cruise Line, and their Ashore Weddings cost $ 2000.00 to $ 3000.00

One can do a Wedding Ashore a lot cheaper on one’s one… or the least expensive option, is often found in the City – State / Province / Region – of the Country of Embarkation… BEFORE the cruise (which is what we did).

Hope this helps,

We island hopped throughout Hawaii, it was wonderful though not the cheapest place! We’re now planning an anniversary trip to either Belize or the Mexican Yucatan. Check out some Groupon/Livingsocial trip deals for some ideas!

@IcaJess13:  What hotel are you staying at in Maui? I’ve been pricing our honeymoon and I’m a little overwhelmed at all the choices.

We spent12 days in Hawaii split between Maui and Kauai.  We stayed at the Hyatt on both islands.  It was beautiful and so relaxing. I wanted to goto Bora Bora but traveling there during high/peak season was just a bit to expensive for the length of time we wanted to stay for.

An update on where I might want to have my “Marriage Celebration”/Vow Renewal:  I was thinking that a local chapel, such as one on a nearby school campus that is only about a half hour from here, would be beautiful. Doing this will be wonderful in so many ways: a beautiful setting, I can have the photographer take just a few pictures (he photographed my wedding and we are in touch on a regular basis), my son who walked me down the aisle and my husband’s two sons who were ring bearers could share in our celebration, my grandparents who have passed on would love the religous surroundings…and I as well…we displayed a picture of them at the beautiful bed and breakfast where we were married and had our reception…our ceremony was dedicated in their memory and the minister announced this.

I feel that this would all make our amazing wedding complete. Since we did not have a honeymoon, it would be fun to be whisked away to a beautiful far off place, maybe a cruise. Hmmm, I’m liking this even more as I’m now writing about it 🙂

Any ideas on a place to celebrate after the renewal ceremony? Something for just us and our children (my son is 20 and my husband’s two boys are nine and eleven).
