We’re looking at the Hilton Rose Hall or the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall in Montego Bay Jamaica. Our main requirements were family friendly, great beaches and good golf options. There’s tons of options typically at the bigger resorts and if you choose a location by a major airport, it cuts down on transfers and helps keep airfare costs down. Good luck in your searching!

From Canada too and having a destination wedding is something we are looking at as well, partly because wedding planning stresses me out. Our crappy economy is not helping at all!! How many guests are you thinking of? I have this amazing venue in Hawaii. Sadly can’t do ours there (bitter FSIL) lol

I was at a Destination Wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican. They had guests flying from all over Canada, as well as China.

KareKoosh:  I’m soooo excited, we started our countdown with over 400 days and we’re finally under 100! The beach is definitely a huge reason why we chose Swept Away, all the Couples properties look amazing

Cartagena, Colombia is a hell of a lot cheaper than Costa Rica. And it is gorgeous; the amazing Spanish colonial architecture gives you so many stunning photo opportunities. Oh, and the best mojitos in the entire world.

If you are not dead set on being near the ocean, Antigua, Guatemala is also very reasonably priced. It’s a bit less restored than Cartagena, but equally beautiful. And volcanoes!

If either of those sound interesting, I can give you some hotel and venue ideas as I have been to both.

Got married at Sandals Ocho Rios. You can check my post history for recap. Overall I would recommend them for weddings. I wasnt impressed with the resort (food not great, beach at that location was horrible, lots and lots and lots of construction, fire alarms going off all night) but as it is the only Sandals I have been at, not sure if it was that one location or if all of them are pretty similar.

We are getting married at Sandals Grande St Lucian. We are spending 4 days prior to the wedding scuba diving, sailing and relaxing with our guests.  Then another week after everyone leaves for our honeymoon. Sandals is so easy to work with and I never felt pressured or nickeled and dimed.
