We are getting married September 29th, so our honeymoon will be the first week(s) of October. The problem is that it is hurricane or rainy season for a lot of places, and unfortunatly we cannot move the honeymoon back at all. Bees that went on their honeymoon in the fall, where did you go? Would you recommend it? Any advice is appreciated!

We have the same wedding date! I’ve read that there are three safe places in the carribean to travel during the fall. Curaçao, Bonaire, and Aruba. We have gone to Aruba twice, both times at the end of September and beginning of October and both times weather was absolutely beautiful, no worry of hurricane and it really only ever rains overnight there.
We will likely end up there again for our honeymoon this fall because it’s always been tried and true 🙂
or or if you’re up to traveling a far distance, Hawaii is also stunning that time of year with lots to do and see.

Its a great time of year for southern Europe, just out of the peak season but still great weather. We went to Italy in September rolling into October and it was still great weather. Spain would also be good that time of year.

We went to the secrets Resort in Los Cabos! It was amazing! There was not a cloud in the sky every day.

We’re getting married 9/22 and decided to honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos. We are still sorting out he exact resort, but we’ve done our research and Cabo seems the *least* likely to be hit by a hurricane in the September/October season, so we’ve committed to the location. We’ve had friends tell us how wonderful it was and are looking forward to it!

I am curious to hear people’s experience with weather/crowds in southern Italy/Greece in September or early october.

Married in October. And we went on a Royal Caribbean cruise. Many of the islands were destroyed by hurricane season, so they just changed the itinerary to accommodate.

veganica : In my experience September is likely to be quite hot. October is likely to have cooler average temps and the sun sets much earlier so that automatically gives you cooler evenings and mornings, but peak day can still be hot if you are in the sun. It’s a shorter “hot” window though than in September.
I can’t say I experienced much difference in the crowds between sept & oct, they have been pretty much the same. I think school resuming in early september is what makes the difference between summer crowds and fall crowds. Major cities and tourist hubs will be crowded all through october, and much of the year. Not as bad as summer vacation season though. Small coastal resort towns will thin out more than cities or inland regions will.

We took our 2 week honeymoon to Japan in October. Great weather for walking around and exploring.

Yes I’ve heard the “ABC” islands are the safest bet in the Caribbean. We are def considering Aruba and have heard nothing but great things about it!
I would LOVE to go to Greece! but Fiance thinks it won’t be as relaxing

We actually just got back from a trip to Italy this October. It was great weather! It got quite warm during the day (up to 80 at least twice) and got cooler in the evenings (down to the 50s). There were still crowds of course at all of the big landmarks, but not nearly as bad as the “high season”. But since we just went to Italy we want to go somewhere else for our honeymoon.

Our travel agent is def trying to sell us on going to Mexico. Although we really love Mexico, we’ve already been there a couple of times and want to do something different. It is always a good fall back though.
I think at this point we are strongly considering Aruba, Hawaii, Costa Rica and the Maldives (if we can afford it lol)
